BiographyYang Mi (Chinese: 杨幂, born 12 September 1986) is a Chinese actress and singer. She began her career as a child actress in 1990, making her acting debut in Tang Ming Huang. Transitioning to adult roles in the 2000s, she gained attention for her performance in the historical drama Wang Zhaojun (2007), which earned her a nomination for Best Actress at the 24th China TV Golden Eagle Awards. She further rose to prominence with supporting parts in The Return of the Condor Heroes (2006), Chinese Paladin 3 (2009), and The Dream of Red Mansions (2010). Her breakthrough came in 2011 time-travel series Palace, which garnered her a nomination for Best Actress at the 17th Shanghai Television Festival and the Most Popular Actress award at the same ceremony. Additionally, she earned a Best Actress of Fantasy Drama nomination at the 6th Huading Awards and won Best Original Soundtrack there for the OST ‘In Support of the Love’—a song she performed for the series—alongside the China Music Awards for Best Television Actress.
