BiographyAyo Edebiri ( Eye-oh ə-DEB-ər-ee; born October 3, 1995) is an American actress, comedian, and television writer. Since 2022 she has played chef Sydney Adamu in the comedy-drama series The Bear, for which she won a Golden Globe Award, a Screen Actors Guild Award, and a Primetime Emmy Award, as well as a nomination for a Directors Guild of America Award for directing the episode "Napkins".

Edebiri has been a writer and voice actor on Big Mouth since 2020 and was a writer for the comedy series What We Do in the Shadows in 2022. In 2023, she voiced roles in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem and starred in the comedies Theater Camp and Bottoms. She had another voice role in Inside Out 2 (2024).
