Episode 1
It's a dirty job, but someone's got to do it ... as the clean-up force return, Edinburgh council workers Freddy and Jim are emptying a flat that's accumulated four tons of rubbish. Meanwhile on the streets, environmental warden Hazel Holt is issuing smokers who drop their fag ends with a F50 fixed penalty.

Episode 2
When a 300-year-old tomb in Edinburgh's city centre is vandalised, the council must pick up the pieces - literally. Across town, a man has died with no known next of kin, and Ann and Freddy must find out who will pay for the funeral. Meanwhile, street cleaner Derek keeps smiling through a day of dead animals and worse.

Edinburgh mortuary technician Vicky examines a body so decomposed it's virtually unidentifiable.
Pest controllers Jim and David try to reduce the city's seagull population, and cockroaches overwhelm a council high-rise kitchen.

Episode 4
It's summer in Edinburgh, and while pest controllers Jim and Freddy have a gadget to see off the wasps, street cleaner Ray must deal with festival flyer fall-out the old-fashioned way.

Episode 5
Edinburgh council workers Freddy and Jim clear a tenant's flat overrun with junk and creepy-crawlies, while graveyard workers Stuart and Gareth evict the homeless from the city's tombs. Meanwhile a blood spillage on a council estate means a call-out for mortuary worker George.

Episode 6
Environmental wardens Paul and Hazel search for the dogs responsible for a glut of excrement in Edinburgh. In Princes St Gardens, pest controllers try to keep rats under control.

Episode 7
A double bill of muckraking brings the series to an end. Edinburgh environmental health student Stephen Glass is tested on his knowledge of animal droppings and visits the mortuary where he views a dead body for the first time. Plus, tackling chewing gum stuck to the city's streets and as revellers descend en masse to celebrate Hogmanay, street cleaner Ray Stevenson is left to scoop up the mess they leave behind.
