Alaska State Troopers - Season 5
Season 5
Episodes
Trail of Blood
In the season five kick-off, we'll watch Troopers pursue suspects as spring beckons and the world's foremost sled race, the Iditarod, heats up. Patrolling the wilderness of the last frontier keeps the Troopers on their toes as people gather in March in Nome for one of the toughest races on Earth. Suspicious behavior at a gas station leads Troopers into a showdown with a suspect who locks himself in a bathroom in what looks like a last-ditch attempt to destroy his drugs.
Loaded for Bear
Troopers must employ their best means of defense when culprits come out onto the Alaskan streets armed with knives, guns and even rocks. In the Mat-Su Valley, a man recently escaped from a mental health facility wanders the streets with rocks in his pockets and takes aim at law enforcement. An injured hiker's life is in the hands of Troopers as they organize a rescue operation in the mountains.
Bear Aware
Spring in Alaska begins to bloom, bringing both tourists and bears onto the roadsides of Juneau. While photo opportunities with cute cubs are abundant, Troopers must monitor the action to prevent potential run-ins with protective mama bears. In Seward, Trooper Joe Miller races through the woods to catch a man reported to be chasing campers with a knife. In the Mat-Su Valley, a wanted criminal leads Troopers Lopez and Taylor to a suspicious shed.
Smell of Death
In the Alaskan flats, an abandoned campsite smells suspicious to Troopers Mulvaney and Leigh, who search the surrounding woods for a possible deceased body. Elsewhere, an unruly driver turns onto a side road and Trooper Miller has a gut feeling that something isn't right. Minutes later, when the suspicious car is found crashed in the woods and the driver is nowhere in sight, Miller sprints to apprehend a possibly dangerous suspect.
Burglars & Bears
On the streets of Fairbanks, a getaway car is on the loose with a freshly stolen firearm. Elsewhere in Alaska, Troopers are wading across rivers to rescue campers. And in Girdwood, Trooper Miller helps homeowners ward off a hungry bear that has taken up residence in a garage. We'll also follow a helicopter rescue of roll-over crash victims, the search for a stranded boat and its passengers, and the hunt for a reckless RV driver, who is reportedly having trouble staying on the road.
Lock'N'Load Neighbors
The roads are teeming with trouble and the Troopers must dodge wintry conditions to catch their targets/suspects. In Butte, an intoxicated man harasses Troopers and leads them to a surprising discovery: a 9 mm pistol on the couch. An altercation involving alcohol at a Fairbanks hotel leads to arrests. And a dispute between neighbors involving guns on the outskirts of town draws Troopers into the cross fire. Finally, when brown bears take over a remote village dump, Sgt. Dobson must mediate.
Hammered on the Holiday
As the Alaskan summer heats up, so does the crime. In the remote area surrounding Glennallen, Troopers search for a family of missing moose hunters. Because the terrain is expansive and difficult to cross on foot, Trooper Dahl takes to the skies in his floatplane. It's not long before he spots the stranded family's vehicle trapped in a creek below. In Seward, the Fourth of July is creating an excuse for reckless behavior.
Carnival Chaos
In this one-hour episode of Alaska State Troopers, recreation is at its peak in Alaska, but as summer smolders on, so does trouble, and Troopers are out in force. Rising temperatures bring fierce 45 mph winds onto wildlife troopers Branden Forst and Tim Abbott as they patrol the Kuskokwim River. When the winds drive the trooper boat onto a sandbar, they must react quickly before the gale swamps the boat with water.
Battling Demons
Summers in Alaska bring out some of the state's wildest creatures, and some are surprisingly human. In Wasilla, a crazed man is caught bashing in an unsuspecting woman's windshield with his bare hands. In the remote village of Kongiganak, Trooper Hightower flies over to respond to an arson arrest. The mission takes a turn for the worse when they are called to an ensuing fight with knives and Tasers. In Fairbanks, Trooper Mealey receives a report of teenagers illegally hunting migratory birds.
Wildest Calls
This one-hour special follows arrests in remote villages. Hop inside the patrol car with Trooper Howie Peterson as he confronts an intoxicated gold miner who is blocking a road. Tensions heat up and Trooper Peterson has no backup. Meanwhile, in the Mat Su Valley, trooper Abraham Garcia is tracking down an armed and dangerous suspect who is notorious for running from troopers. When Garcia comes across the suspect, a footrace ensues.
Frozen Justice
This one-hour special includes helicopter rescues on frigid, 22 degree mountaintops and dangerous suspect chase-downs in south central Alaska. In the Talkeetna Mountains, when snow machine riders go missing, Trooper Mel Nading and rescue volunteer Scott Horacek deploy on a search and rescue mission. The search via helicopter comes across an overturned snow machine, and in 22 degree weather, the race is on to find survivors.
Shotgun Standoff
A high-intensity situation unfolds when shots are fired at the Troopers. In Soldotna, Trooper Hunter Hull and Alaskan police are in a standoff with a man with a shotgun. The standoff escalates when the armed man fires right through the door! In Kenai, Trooper Maggie Stang is on a wildlife patrol near the salmon fisheries when she corners a group of fisherman illegally snagging fish. In Kodiak, a resident calls Troopers when she spots tourists wandering close to a family of brown bears.
