Folge 1
The team from the small community of Kekenberg an der Della is missing a player for the football match of the year because pig farmer Lukas prefers to go to the sea with his new flame Resi. Captain Michi brings the new guy, the Viennese Patrick, into the team. During the game the waves rise - until suddenly the lights go out: everything is dark. Not just in the village and the neighboring town of Mucking, but throughout Europe. Blackout. From cell phones to lamps to flushing toilets - nothing works anymore. Mayor Edi has just as few measures and emergency plans as Major Hermann Pokorny and First Lieutenant Julia Lehner in the nearby barracks. Only the two Germans who have moved here, Jens and Carola, are calm and calm - one wonders why.
Folge 2
There is still no electricity. Village priest Matias calls his community together for an emergency meeting, and the inn of the heavily pregnant landlady Elisabeth becomes a crisis center. It quickly becomes clear that when it comes to power outages, everyone is pretty stupid. Conspiracy theorist Norbert is convinced that the lizard people have of course taken over the world and are behind the blackout. The run-down barracks doesn't even have a generator, so how is the immediate area supposed to be supplied? The Kekenbergers launch Operation Survival. Procurement of food and drinking water is a top priority. For once, the local Viennese prove to be useful: former football captain Laura, who is plagued by an anxiety disorder, and her boyfriend Patrick drive their electric car to the nearest supermarket to get groceries. But they are not the only ones there.
Folge 3
Michi and his wife Agnes are wondering what their German neighbors, who weren't at the village meetings, are up to all the time. Their daughter Marie and the mayor's son Jakob are working on an electricity-generating bicycle in the garage when Jakob notices that Marie isn't feeling well. After two weeks without electricity, food is slowly becoming scarce. And also medication - like insulin, which Marie urgently needs. It becomes clear to the people of Kekenberg that they have to organize themselves: landlady Elisabeth takes over the fishing with Pastor Matias, and the village elder Gitti collects mushrooms in the forest. Mayor Edi goes hunting with Jakob and Klaus when the Muckingers get in their way. And to make matters worse, Elisabeth's water bursts.
Folge 4
Despite all odds, Elisabeth, with Norbert's help and to Patrick's chagrin, gives birth to a little girl on his new sofa. Since the generator at the women's prison in the immediate vicinity is in danger of failing, First Lieutenant Julia Lehner is on the road with a van full of fuel. But it remains lying in the middle of the forest and Mayor Edi, not without ulterior motives, offers to repair the broken tire in the village. After the Kekenbergers' efforts to obtain food in the forest, fields and lake were unsuccessful, the Muckingers stole the last drops of petrol from the tanks during the night and the village community suffered a death after eating a few mushrooms, things escalated A conflict arises between men over the discovered prepper cellar of the two German newcomers.
Folge 5
Everyone is aware that they have to grow together as a community in order to survive the blackout. The German preppers Jens and Carola are now ready to share the last of their food because their daughter Marie has run out of the insulin she desperately needs. Little Max is hungry and Agnes takes the shotgun with which she sends her husband Michi into the pigsty. And athlete Patrick cycles all the way to the next supply point to help Marie. Completely unexpectedly, there is a strange woman standing in the guest garden among the villagers, and busybody Edi, of all people, is speechless. Like a small miracle, Pastor Matias finds beer reserves in Luka's pigsty, which the Kekenbergers cool down in the inn with Jakob's electricity-generating bicycle.
Folge 6
While Patrick reaches the supply point in the middle of the night with the last of his strength, the people of Kekenberg are struggling with the next catastrophe: the pigsty is ablaze. Like a suicide mission, Pastor Matias throws himself into the flames to save Laura and Norbert, who are trapped inside. Even the unbelieving and non-denominational Elizabeth now asks God for help. After weeks of walking from Italy up to Kekenberg, pig farmer Lukas is still faced with the ruins of his existence. At least Patrick returns in time with the life-saving insulin for Marie. With a clever plan from Laura, the villagers don't get the soccer cup, but they do get the pigs back from the Muckingers and thus their supply base. The Kekenbergers have definitely learned one thing in the last few weeks: cohesion is everything. Especially when it's dark.
