Episode 1
The plot centers around playwright Peter Ingram, his family and his experiences In producing and writing "An Englishman's Castle," a soap opera about World War II, for a state-controlled television series. In episode-one, Peter receives two warnings. Manner, the Controller of Programs, advises him to reconsider the use of a Jewish-sounding name he's given to one of the characters in the series. Later, Peter's lover, Jill, an actress in the series, warns him that the racial purification laws make their affair dangerous. Jill is Jewish and a member of the undergound movement.
