In Arcadia, everyone lives with a score. It determines what you get and what you don't. When Pieter Hendriks cheats with his daughters' scores, he is convicted and deported to the inhospitable Buitengebied. His wife Cato and their four adult daughters now have to continue with a low score.

Milly enlists at Kazerne Zuidpoort to track down her father in the Buitengebied. Cato and Luz must look for a new job to keep their grades up. Sensitive Luz has a hard time settling in their new situation.
While Cato does her best to keep the family together, the rebellious Hanna illegally tries to help people whose low score doesn't qualify for medical attention. Alex is pressured to betray her family.

Milly discovers a Survivor Settlement in the Outer Area. She asks the leader to help her look for her father. Hanna becomes involved with a secret organization that illegally provides medical care.
Luz is bullied at work, while Cato's score goes down the drain. Alex is shunned by her family after her betrayal, but catches the eye of the Vizier.

Milly brings some hopeful news: maybe father Pieter can survive outside. If she can find him... While Hanna becomes further involved in the resistance, Alex reconnects with the family.
The daughters fear for their mother's score. It keeps falling, it seems as if Cato is being thwarted. Alex suspects the Vizier's hand. Luz is helped by... Regulator Simons.

Alex works at her father-in-law's company as a spy for the Vizier. Hanna is tested by the resistance, they want to know if she can be trusted. Just then Regulator Marco Simons encounters indications that Hanna is involved in illegal business. Meanwhile, Marco's father Simon is hospitalized. Luz meets the man and tries to learn more about Marco through him.

Milly has been told that her father Pieter has been found dead outside. She wants to see his body.
Hanna is questioned about her involvement in the illegal support of a kidney patient. She seems to escape the dance, but Marco Simons sets a trap for her. Alex feels she is being manipulated by the Vizier in her investigation against her father-in-law Jaak Philips.

Regulator Marco Simons now knows that his cousin Nobel is still alive. He decides to put a hand over Milly's head, but that doesn't stop him from continuing the investigation against Hanna. She leads the detectives straight to Cas Wessels.
Milly, Cato and Luz are arrested. Alex confronts her clients and learns why her father-in-law Jaak Philips is being investigated.

Milly goes outside for one last time to say goodbye to Pieter. It's hard for her. Hugo wants revenge for the death of his brother Bravo. Alex delivers her father-in-law to the Vizier in order to save Hanna.
