The 2011 spectactular gets underway. Sir Terry Wogan, is joined by Alesha Dixon, Tess Daly and Fearne Cotton and a whole host of stars, all out in force in support of disadvantaged children across the United Kingdom.

Boy band sensation One Direction get the fundraising party started, and the cast of West End smash The Wizard of Oz performs live in the studio.

8.00-8.30

The BBC newsreaders make their own headlines in a Strictly Come Dancing special, and there is an exclusive treat from the Doctor Who team.

8.30-9.00

Choirmaster Gareth Malone unites thousands of children all over the UK to sing live in a mass countrywide choir. There's also a fun musical surprise from the mischievous Outnumbered kids and a live performance from Susan Boyle.

9.00-9.30

The cast of EastEnders rock Albert Square in a tribute to Queen, and The Muppets are joined by some celebrity TV fans to create a classic video.

9.30-10.00

The tables are turned on Lord Sugar as he enters the Dragons' Den, and Gary Barlow brings together a whole host of music stars to perform the official Children in Need single.

The marathon fundraising spectacular continues with a special Children in Need edition of Never Mind the Buzzcocks, plus live studio performances from Olly Murs, Ed Sheeran and more music from One Direction.

10.30-11.00

JLS perform their new single exclusively for Children in Need, and style guru Gok Wan razzle-dazzles with a song from the musical Chicago.

11.00-11.30

Comedy from Vic Reeves and Bob Mortimer in a special Children in Need-themed sketch, and the stars of Hollyoaks sing live in the studio. Plus a round-up of Children in Need fundraising parties taking place all over the UK.

Live music from The Saturdays and comeback band Steps, plus Good Fundraising News from Russell Howard.

The stars of West End smash Crazy for You perform a toe-tapping extravaganza live in the studio, plus a specially-recorded performance from Adele.

It's back to the 80s as Justin Lee Collins, Shayne Ward and the cast of musical Rock of Ages relive the era of loud guitars and big hair; and there's a specially-recorded Children in Need performance from Lady Gaga.
