During the grape harvest, the body of a harvest worker is found on the Kofler estate. "Frau Commissario" Sonja Schwarz (Chiara Schoras) and her colleagues Matteo Zanchetti (Tobias Oertel) and Jonas Kerschbaumer (Gabriel Raab) quickly realize that there are not only many suspects in the environment of the dead, but also in that of the winemaker Hans Kofler ( Anton Algrang) there. Carla Pisani (Jeanette Hain), an anti-mafia investigator from Rome, also appears who is out to prove Matteo's links to organized crime. She also puts Charlotte Keller (Julia Stemberger) under pressure, who is now in prison, so that she can open up about her dealings with the seedy restaurateur Rossi (Thomas Sarbacher). But Charlotte receives a painful warning from her fellow prisoners.
Now the desperate Stefan Keller (Heio von Stetten) wants to force Sonja to help him free his wife. He sets in motion a chain of dramatic events that almost cost Sonja her job.
