Special investigators Hagen Dudek and Maya Kaminski take over the investigation and are faced with a difficult case. All files and records relating to Lona's and Elling's previous mission have been inexplicably deleted. What happened?

Detectives Lona Mendt and Frank Elling are investigating a complicated murder case that leads them into a web of dark secrets. The focus of the investigation is twelve-year-old Sarah, a Bulgarian orphan girl. But two weeks after they began their investigation, Lona and Elling are shot. They are in a coma, while Sarah disappears without a trace. Special investigators Maja Kaminski and Hagen Dudek take over the mysterious case. Their search for the truth becomes a dangerous game.

Flashback: Lona and Elling find a connection between the missing children from the home and the four buried bodies from the forest near Marnow. Sarah remains missing, but the search for her leads Lona and Elling to a shady organization that uses children like goods for its own purposes.
