COVID-19: Branded and Scorned

Fear and anxiety stemming from the coronavirus pandemic are causing some people to lash out at those who have been diagnosed with COVID-19 as well as Asian-Americans. Dr. Phil meets Clare, a 21-year-old from New York who contracted coronavirus in early March and claims that instead of love and support from friends, she received resentment and scorn. Dr. Phil advises Clare about how to process the feelings of judgment she experienced as a result of her diagnosis. Dr. Phil also meets Valerie, a Chinese-American who claims she was verbally attacked, kicked at, and chased down her own street by a man who accused her of spreading the virus because of her ethnicity. Dr. Phil gives guidance and unique advice about how Valerie can move on from this attack.
