In the first episode, Aled Jones is going back to the 1940s to hear the courageous story of one of the last remaining land girls in Great Britain, who worked the land and fields during World War Two. On her journey, she meets a modern-day veteran and his family who are still struggling with the effects of war. But can she give something back to them with a generous act that will change their lives?
Episode 2
In episode two, Aled is in Oxfordshire to see the extraordinary dogs who have been trained to help children with disabilities. He meets the incredible woman whose disabled son inspired her to make it all possible and introduces her to a brave young boy and his mum whose lives have parallels to her own.
Episode 3
Aled is going back to Paddington in 1999 to hear the story of 'The Lady in the Mask', an incredible woman whose face became the symbol of one of the worst rail disasters of her generation. On their journey, Aled introduces her to an inspiring young woman who has had to deal with her own life-changing injuries.
Episode 4
In episode four, Aled is going back to the 1960s to meet a man whose early life was dominated by one of the worst medical disasters of our time, when thousands of pregnant women took Thalidomide. He's managed to overcome huge adversity and today is a successful artist who paints with his feet and mouth. Aled introduces him to a little boy whose own disabilities mean life is a struggle.
Episode 5
In episode five, Aled is going back to the 1960s to hear the story of an inspirational woman who was lucky enough to experience an idyllic and carefree childhood in a beautiful seaside village in Cornwall. In stark contrast to her own upbringing, she meets a family living in east London, who have never been outside the capital, or even seen the sea.

Presenter Aled Jones explores people's personal history to see how they can positively change the life of another. Aled goes back to Leeds in the 1970s to hear the story of a little boy whose childhood was left devastated by one of the most notorious serial killers of the generation. On his journey, Aled introduces him to an inspiring and resilient young mother who has also faced her own difficulties. But can he find a way to give something back, and is he able to offer her anything in return?

Aled introduces him to an inspirational teenager who has also dedicated her life to looking after her sick parent. Can he give something back with a gift that will change her life?
