The First Trial
In the first episode, while introducing the harsh environment surrounding pediatric surgeons, who are statistically 0.3% of all over 300,000 doctors, Akira Shiga, the director of Togo Memorial Hospital, where Minato is accepted. (Akira Emoto) tells the understaffed pediatrics department that he will invite a new resident starting today. Doctors are against Minato, who has an autism spectrum disorder. However, Shiga highly appreciated Minato's ability as a doctor, who also has Savant syndrome. In the meantime, Minato, who met an emergency patient on his way to work for the first time and dealt with it with his amazing memory, saves a life-threatening child.
Save the Baby
The second story is about a pregnant high school girl, Yuina (Yamada Anna), who one day breaks her water and gives birth in an emergency. Her baby was low birth weight and most of her intestines had died. Yuina and the baby are hospitalized at Togo Memorial Hospital where Minato and Natsumi (Ueno) work.
The Deal
In Episode 3, Minato (Yamazaki) broke the hospital's guidelines. Takayama (Fujiki) succeeded in the operation of the controversial newborn, but the responsibility is questioned. Takayama accepted the disciplinary action, saying that he was responsible for everything. Natsumi (Ueno) is also burdened, but her current problem is persuading Mai Ishiyama (Kotone Nakajima), who will have surgery the next week. To the frightened Mai, Natsumi drew a picture book that gently explained her surgery and gave it to her. At that time, Natsumi is contacted by ER. 6-year-old Ichikawa Miyu (Takenotani Saki) is brought to the hospital. She was sent around the hospital, and more than 4 hours had passed since the onset of symptoms, and her condition was serious.
The Promise
Shindo is assigned to be the attending physician to a troubled child who endured a lot of mistreatment & pain.
The Boy Soprano
The team treats a young boy singer; Shindo is not happy when Takayama wants to transfer him to diagnostic imaging.
The Truth Revealed
Shindo's dad returns with an ulterior motive; the team must perform risky surgery on a pregnant lady and her baby.

In the season finale, Shiga's very ill with cancer, Iyo's transplant surgery option has to change, and a little girl who is brought in is brain dead.

Amandaland

Post her divorce, Amanda has had to downsize and up sticks to South Harlesden, or as the Estate Agent calls it SoHa (definitely not the area around Wormwood Scrubs prison).
With both Manus and Georgie now at secondary school, Amanda has to try and get her head around raising teenagers, dealing with modern motherhood horrors like teenage drinking, fake Instagram accounts and eco anxiety. Not even a woman as certain of her parenting as Amanda can deal with these nightmares alone.
Then there's Amanda's mother Felicity who is constantly around, and completely in denial that she is, in fact, lonely. Theirs is a slightly unhealthy co-dependent relationship based on backhanded compliments and veiled snipes about her new home.
After a brief spell of freedom, Anne is sucked back into being Amanda's minion to help her navigate the social scene with the other parents at the children's new school. Thank God for Anne.
