Вот, скажем, нефть – дар природы, но только благодаря цивилизации мы начали ею пользоваться, а благодаря прогрессу скоро закончим. Прогресс потому и называется прогрессом, что никогда не стоит на месте, так как из-за него на этом месте не остаётся камня на камне, и прогрессу приходится идти ещё куда-нибудь. Поэтому сколько ни утверждали бы, что к прогрессу приводит цивилизованность, все понимают, что к нашему прогрессу приводит её отсутствие. К примеру, естественное желание цивилизованного человечества поесть экологически чистую картошку наталкивается на естественно желание прогрессивного человечества посыпать её нитратами.
