Mr Watkins is on the point of confiscating Grandad's Social Club Party Fund when he discovers that Amelia Wilcox , the famous actress whom he worships, is rehearsing in the hall. He persuades Grandad to arrange a date and this leads to robbery, explosions, hysteria - and a knees-up!

Grandad is to judge the local beauty contest, but if Mr Watkins' niece doesn't win he's liable to stop Grandad's pay rise; if Dave Corby's girlfriend doesn't win he's liable to stop his breathing; and if Mrs Brady's grand-daughter doesn't win she's going to accuse Grandad publicly of fiddling the results!
