Where Are the Heroes?
The mysterious Hero_Truther puts out a rallying cry for EVOs to declare themselves by telling personal stories in the wake of lies and fear mongering. This prompts Phoebe Frady to reveal to her brother, Quentin, that she can manipulate shadows.
Phoebe
Quentin encourages Phoebe to continue documenting her story when she begins college, where she becomes fast friends with her roommate Aly. As Phoebe's power grows, she discovers that there's much more to her ability than she initially realized, but Quentin worries that it may be too much for her to handle.
Registered
After a pro-EVO demonstration at the college gets out of hand, Phoebe is arrested and forced to register in a national database. When Phoebe is approached by Harris with a job offer at the fast-growing tech company named Renautas, it raises Quentin's suspicions.
June 13th
Phoebe goes missing after an argument with Quentin over her ongoing nightmares. Concerned, Quentin and Aly search for Phoebe, tracking her down to the Summit in Odessa, Texas.
Renautas
In the wake of tragic events on June 13th, Quentin refuses to believe his sister was involved in the attacks and believes Renautas was behind Phoebe's abduction. Aided by Hero_Truther, Quentin attempts to substantiate his conspiracy theory by going undercover at Renautas.
Where the Truth Lies
Hero_Truther's true identity is revealed when Quentin brings him evidence that connects Renautas to the Primatech Paper Company, leading Quentin to track down a former Primatech employee: Noah Bennet aka HRG.

Ellis, a demoted detective, has unfortunately spent the last year on the maritime unit, while Max has been living a transient life elaborately scamming everyone she meets. But when Max gets arrested and ends up helping Ellis solve a local crime, the two are offered the opportunity to redeem themselves, with Ellis going back to detective and Max staying out of jail. The catch? They have to work together, with each using their unique skills to solve crimes. For Ellis, that means hard-boiled shoe leather police work; for Max, it means accents, schemes and generally befriending everyone in sight, while driving Ellis absolutely nuts. Against the backdrop of beautiful Vancouver — with all its unique, charming, and even contradictory neighbourhoods and subcultures — the two will have to learn what it means to trust another person and maybe actually become partners.
