Dave takes a gamble when he makes one of his most expensive purchases ever. Steve and Dave try to solve the mystery behind a missing duelling pistol. And with finances tight, the team head to Stratford fair to try to sell some treasures.
Episode 2
Dave and Steve head to an auction house in Ludlow where they think they've spotted something rather special coming up for sale. It's a First World War pilot's logbook, but they're not the only one on the trail of this pilot's story… The team get their hands on some rare Waterloo medals, and a trip to the National Army Museum uncovers an extraordinary link between the medals and an iconic battle. And Dave and Steve go on a shopping trip to Hereford where they hope to buy some rifles from a collector.
Episode 3
Some customers bring in a fascinating find from the beaches of Normandy – what looks like the exhaust from a Spitfire. Steve does some digging and uncovers an extraordinary tale that could link this chunk of metal to a wartime hero.
Steve and Marie take a trip to Oxford University to delve into the story behind a beautiful childhood memento from one of Britain's most celebrated war heroes. Captain Noel Chavasse is one of only three people to be awarded a Victoria Cross twice. But long before he was a soldier, he and his twin brother created a beautiful scrapbook revealing their teenage thoughts and ambitions.
And an eagerly anticipated parcel arrives at the shop, with a medal that's connected to the Russian revolution.
Episode 4
Dave and Steve need an expert eye to sift out any treasure among a collection of over 1000 medals. A former dealer is selling his entire collection but it's an all or nothing deal - will there be any hidden gems that make the medals worth bidding for?
The team take a trip to the largest flea market in the country and discover a personalised belt worn by a World War I army medic. Steve digs deep into one man's family history. Michael Langford's grandfather served with the Royal Army Medical Corps but Michael's had little success in finding out much about him - can Steve bring him back to life?
Episode 5
The team acquire a personalised Victorian pistol but can they track down the man who originally owned the gun? A customer brings in some military brasses that his father brought back from the Somme. He thinks they came from a horse but Dave has his suspicions about their provenance. And the team travels to Brecon Military fair to find new stock, where they pick up a popular piece of Home Guard memorabilia - a fireman's helmet that survived the Blitz. Can a research trip to the London Fire Brigade museum uncover the story behind the helmet?
Episode 6
A customer brings in an emotive family letter sent from the Western Front, where their ancestor writes of his fear for his life, on the eve of battle. Carl Constantine had joined up with his friends in the newly created PALS regiments, but would they return?
War and Son acquire some special Australian medals from the First World War. Steve uncovers the desperate stories behind these Gallipoli medals and finds he has a very personal connection to one of the men. And animal lover Marie turns detective as she investigates the extraordinary story of a bravery medal awarded for rescuing a dog.
