Hotel Benidorm: Fun-Loving Brits in the Sun - Season 1
Season 1
Episodes
Episode 1
In the first episode of the series, the staff at the Rio Park are ready to welcome thousands of Brits back to this Benidorm favourite. While the hotel has checked in more Brits over its 50-year history than most, new assistant manager Mario is in his first summer season, and his front desk team of Sharon and Abi are raring to get their holidaymakers checked in. But no sooner have they started than there's a problem. What goes up hasn't come down: the lifts are broken and no one wants to carry their cases up 12 flights. While they race to get them repaired, Mandy and Andy are checking into the hotel that, back in the 1970s, Mandy spent her teenage years in. She's keen to see if bartender Pedro remembers the ‘good times' they shared. Question is: will he remember her at all?
Episode 2
The staff at the Rio Park are once again throwing open their doors to this Benidorm hospitality mecca. Sharon on reception has pulled the short straw, as today three flight loads of Brits are expected all at the same time, and just when there's an issue with the booking system! Can she keep calm and carry on? Or will it all be kicking off in the queue — which quickly goes out the door and down the street? Thinking on her feet, Sharon diverts guests to the restaurant, where hospitality manager Nelson is ready to offer them Sunday lunch — Benidorm style. Which can only mean roast beef and gravy all round! Also settling in are five friends from Norfolk who've come for some much-needed fun in the sun. Pete sadly lost his wife a few months ago, and his friends are sure that a big dose of Benidorm is exactly what he needs. Which is where the brilliant staff come in: hotel entertainer Tom is poolside to offer the friends a game of Human Target. Wearing an inflatable Velcro dartboard, Tom's determined to put a smile on the friends' faces.
Episode 3
In balmy Benidorm, the staff at the Rio Park and its sister hotel, the Flamingo Oasis, are gearing up to go the extra mile for their guests at a gala dinner night. For hospitality manager Nelson and his team of chefs, it's a chance to showcase their culinary skills and tempt guests with Nelson's favourite tipple — cava — but will the Brits just want beer and bangers and mash? For mother and daughter guests Yvonne and Marie, dinner is the least of their worries. They're more concerned that the room they've been given has made their vertigo kick in — even though it's only on the second floor. Desperate to move rooms, they plead with reception and even try out their limited Spanish on the cleaners to try and find an empty room with a view that doesn't induce dizziness. Mother Marie is actually at the hotel to celebrate her 85th birthday, but her daughter is in no mood to celebrate until she's all settled in a new suite. Meanwhile, Norbay — who is the hotel's newest recruit in the entertainment team — is only two days into the new job and has to learn the ropes super quickly if the hotel is going to make sure everyone has a great time.
Episode 4
Managers at the Rio Park in Benidorm have clocked off for a bank holiday, so it's a great opportunity for junior staff to prove themselves. Abi is in charge on reception, looking after new team member Raquel and dealing with a tech malfunction. Sadly, the Spanish sun has gone AWOL, so lifeguard Daniel is left out in the rain until lovebirds Andy and Mandy, who have been coming to Benidorm for 40 years, rock up for a swimming lesson. When the sun finally makes an appearance, hotel regulars Roger and Sue are there to make the most of it, and they're also celebrating a very special occasion — their 51st wedding anniversary. Italian Night in the restaurant goes down a treat with pasta galore, even if some guests don't know that meatballs are Italian… And entertainment manager David has to step in as stage manager when a member of staff gets injured. The trouble is that he hasn't done it for quite a few years — but the show must go on!
Episode 5
Staff are gearing up for a weekend of fun and screams as Halloween arrives. At the Flamingo, Michael is on reception with a busy day of checking in guests, while the maintenance team deals with a burst pipe. Entertainment is key to Halloween and Shari is frantically getting the decorations up, while youngster Tom is entertaining the guests.
Episode 6
The reception team face a change of pace as the holiday season ends. But even if things are quiet, Miguel still has his hands full with maintenance work. Mario has a mystery to solve before some VIP guests check in, while a new entertainer finds himself performing on the graveyard day shift, and sets out to prove his worth by taking charge of a bingo game.
