The adventures of Alaska State Patrolman Cal "Kodiak" McKay. McKay, an Alaska state patrol officer whose territory includes a vast area of America's last frontier — a scenic wonderland of remote forests, majestic snow-capped mountains and thousands of lakes. Traveling in his specially-equipped truck or his snowmobile, he must be prepared to aid avalanche victims, track an escaped killer, or answer other calls for help.

After Royal Newfoundland Constabulary Inspector Donny "Fitz" Fitzpatrick digs too deeply into a local politician's nefarious activity, he is exiled to work in Saint-Pierre et Miquelon (the French Territory nestled in the Atlantic Ocean just off the coast of Newfoundland).
