Inoue Kiki could not fulfill her dream to become an idol and is currently working part-time at a convenience store. Asaba Takumi is the president of a convenience store chain and enjoys criticizing sweets on social media.
One day, Takumi found a similar criticism about sweets made by Kiki and invited her to be a staff to develop an original "best seller" sweets.

Working with the convenience store chain's pastry chef, Kiki develops a cream puff recipe for their new line of desserts. But before receiving final approval, her recipe must be judged against a competing cream puff recipe developed by Riho, a member of the company's sweets department. After returning to her usual job at the convenience store, Kiki is called back to headquarters to hear Takumi's verdict on the winning cream puff.
The pheromone of love is in action! Tonight ... a big upheaval!
Kiki witnesses Takumi and Riho sharing an intimate moment. Meanwhile, the company launches a new project to develop an apple-themed dessert with Riho as project leader. Kiki and Makoto are assigned to assist her, but Kiki finds she's unable to concentrate on work because she can't stop thinking about Takumi and Riho.

After Makoto kisses her, Kiki feels confused and seeks advice from Riho, telling her it's "on behalf of a friend." At the same time, Kiki is surprised and troubled to learn that Riho wants to get back together with Takumi. Later, the love-struck Makoto invites Kiki on a date to an amusement park under the guise of doing work-related "research." Meanwhile, Riho is writing a heartfelt text message to Takumi…

Takumi is forced out as president for breach of trust and the old guard regains control of the company. In the sweets department, Kiki is heartbroken by Takumi's departure and Riho's apple pudding project is terminated, as they and their coworkers struggle to keep up with the changes implemented by the company's new president.

Meanwhile at work, the new "mobile convenience store" project is launched. When Kiki sees Takumi and Riho together, however, she decides it's best to forget about him. But Makoto's own feelings for her haven't changed, and he decides it's time to take their relationship to the next level.

As she and Makoto begin dating, Kiki feels a bit shy at first but enjoys spending time with him. One day they run into Takumi and Riho while out on a date. Kiki feels awkward around Takumi but does her best to make conversation. Meanwhile, at work, she's suddenly told that she's being removed from the confectionary development team.

Kiki, Makoto and Riho grow concerned about Takumi's handling of the dessert development project. Meanwhile, after being questioned by Riho about his feelings toward Kiki, Takumi decides he must go and talk to Kiki about their relationship. Kiki is torn between Makoto on the one hand and Takumi on the other. In the end, which of them will she choose to spend Christmas with?

Just as Kiki is getting ready to give Makoto her answer, Takumi suddenly appears and confesses he loves her. With Christmas fast approaching, the four friends—Kiki, Makoto, Takumi, and Riho—are still in a tangle of mixed-up emotions. Where will it all lead?
