The year is 1399. The recently widowed King Władysław is considering returning to Lithuania. Krakow nobles, in order to keep the ruler on the throne, arrange his marriage to the granddaughter of Casimir the Great, Anna of Cylejska. The king does not like the fiancée, Jagiełło sends her to a monastery for a few months to learn Polish. Half a year later, Anna becomes Jagiełło's wife, and then the queen of Poland, and although the marriage is not easy, the temperamental Cylejka slowly wins her husband's heart.
