Lagardère (2005)

EndedScripted showDrama, Adventure, Romance

In France at the very beginning of the 18th century, Henri de Lagardère challenged Duke Philippe de Nevers to discover the secret of his famous boot, which makes him the finest blade of the kingdom of France. He loses, but Nevers, amused by this «gallant knight», cunning, funny and charming, takes him to his service. Since the Nevers and Caylus families were enemies, Duke Philippe de Nevers secretly married the beautiful Inès de Caylus, but the young woman's father later decided to marry his only daughter to Philippe de Gonzague, Nevers' own cousin, who then teaches Gonzague that the planned marriage is impossible, because Inès de Caylus is already married... to him, Nevers and he has a daughter. Gonzague then decides to get rid of his rival and Aurore de Nevers, the girl who has just been born from a secret wedding. Fearing Caylus's revenge if he were to discover the existence of his granddaughter, the Duke of Nevers decides to come and get Aurore at night to take her to his mansion. Jumping on the occasion, Gonzague and the mercenaries that Peyrolles, his damned soul, hired, attack Nevers in the ditches of Caylus Castle. Lagardère cannot prevent the murder of Nevers by his own cousin Philippe de Gonzague, but he manages to mark the hand of the masked assassin with his dagger, after which he swears to avenge the death of his friend and protect his friend's daughter, Aurore de Nevers. The young man raises Aurore in Spain with Cocardasse and Passepoil, his masters of arms, while hiding this dark story from the child. For seventeen years, Lagardère travelled throughout Europe, eliminating all mercenaries one by one. At the very end of his mission, he returns again to France and crosses the road to Gonzague, with whom he passes for a poor and old hunchback.

Grammy Awards

In similar fashion to their film equivalent (The Academy Awards), The Grammys is an awards show that honors the achievements of the members of the professional music recording industry through a voting system. The members of the Recording Academy vote on who they think is most deserving of an award in 108 categories as specified by the academy. Each year the awards are presented during a live telecast that was begun in 1971 by ABC, but has since been televised by CBS after they bought it in 1973. They were initially known as the Gramophone Awards this is because the trophy itself is a golden gramophone but later they became the Grammys.

Abbott Elementary

In this workplace comedy, a group of dedicated, passionate teachers — and a slightly tone-deaf principal — are brought together in a Philadelphia public school where, despite the odds stacked against them, they are determined to help their students succeed in life. Though these incredible public servants may be outnumbered and underfunded, they love what they do — even if they don't love the school district's less-than-stellar attitude toward educating children.

Wild Cards

Wild Cards follows the unlikely duo of a gruff, sardonic cop and a spirited, clever con woman. Ellis, a demoted detective, has unfortunately spent the last year on the maritime unit, while Max has been living a transient life elaborately scamming everyone she meets. But when Max gets arrested and ends up helping Ellis solve a local crime, the two are offered the opportunity to redeem themselves, with Ellis going back to detective and Max staying out of jail. The catch? They have to work together, with each using their unique skills to solve crimes. For Ellis, that means hard-boiled shoe leather police work; for Max, it means accents, schemes and generally befriending everyone in sight, while driving Ellis absolutely nuts. Against the backdrop of beautiful Vancouver — with all its unique, charming, and even contradictory neighbourhoods and subcultures — the two will have to learn what it means to trust another person and maybe actually become partners.
