A tourist yacht cruising the coast of Somalia opens fire on an unarmed boat, thought to be pirates, killing a sheikh and his wife. The incident sets in play an international grab for power, an illegal arms deal and a hunt for terrorists. Captain Ross finds himself at the tragic center of the conflict, galvanizing the assistance of Major Case detectives Goren, Eames and Nichols in this season premiere, the first of two parts.

Hassan, the power-hungry son of a Somali sheikh, orchestrates the murder of his father on the seas off the coast of Africa. To bolster his image as an avenging son, he orders the death of Loftin and Broidy, the men he had earlier directed to kill his father. With an illegal arms deal and a hunt for Somali terrorists hanging in the balance, Detectives Goren, Eames, Nichols and newcomer Stevens combine resources. The heart of their investigation aims to bring to justice the murderer of Captain Ross. Part 2 of the season premiere.

Nichols and Stevens must discover the identity of a killer before another couple is forced to make the most difficult choice. Abel, a deranged social psychologist, forces Ted to choose whether to kill himself or his wife Linda. This is part of a series of experiments Abel is conducting to understand and vindicate his grandfather, Leon. Leon was a concentration camp survivor who was forced by the Nazis to kill himself or his wife. Abel is haunted by the choice and sets out to prove his grandfather did what anyone would have done in that situation.
Love Sick
Rachel, a young girl from the midwest who moved to NYC, is murdered after visiting a medical center to receive treatment for an assault. Maya, a nurse's aid from the medical center and her boyfriend Damon, engage in a series of sexual assaults and murders. They are responsible for Rachel's death among others. Nichols and Stevens must figure out if Randall, another nurse's aid or Maya and Damon are the killers before there is another murder. The crux of the investigation lies in uncovering the psyches of Maya and Randall as individuals and as a couple.
Love on Ice
Four men who have been friends since high school discover they're being blackmailed over the death of another childhood friend. When one of the four turns up dead, it's up to Nichols and Stevens to uncover the truth behind a 22 year old mystery.

The death of a magazine publisher leads to a wide array of suspects, including his friends, employees, lovers past and present, and possibly the Russian mob. Who would go furthest to keep their secrets hidden?
Disciple
A body discovered at a construction site bears all the hallmarks of a serial killer who was executed over six months ago. Detective Stevens is faced with two grim possibilities; either they're dealing with a copycat, or she helped put an innocent man to death.

A mid-level government official decides to blackmail two doctors who have been overcharging their clients. The doctors are terrified that the scandal will lead to the retired mobsters who financed their practice. Their fears are seemingly put to rest when the official turns up dead - until Nichols and Stevens' investigation leads right back to their door.
