Legends of Avantris - All Seasons
Season 1
Prime
Prime is the first ever Campaign streamed by Legends of Avantris. This is the original campaign that started it all! A classic high fantasy TTRPG, with long arcs filled with slow burns, but tons of lore, and big reveals that have a million interconnecting dots, with most of the other campaigns having connections to Prime.
This campaign primarily takes place on the continent of Karkinos in the world of Avantris. It originally began as a home game in Mikey's homebrewed world of Avantris in December 2015. Prime was later first streamed on October 28, 2017. The events that happened during Arc 1 of Prime was not streamed, with the exception of Prime episode 1 (the last episode of arc 1)[1]. As the longest-running campaign, Prime's story is told over multiple arcs. Arc Four was completed in 2021, and the campaign is currently on hiatus. The return of Prime with Arc 5 will begin sometime in the future.
Season 2
Beneath Dark Wings
Beneath Dark Wings is a canon semi-gothic campaign, with a dramatic story, political intrigue, deals with the divine, with a focus on character interactions and tons of funny moments.
Set on continent of Stryga, in the world of Avantris, this campaign is streamed on Twitch, with edited VODs released to Youtube. Full unedited VODs, that include coffee breaks, pre-session shenanigans, and the post-session Avantris & Chill (where they talk about their favorite moments, theorize, and answer questions submitted to their Patreon post) are available on the Legends of Avantris Patreon. The podcast version of this campaign (with each episode split into two parts) is now available on the "Legends of Avantris" podcast located at checkoutourshit.com.
Season 3
Curse of Strahdanya
Curse of Strahdanya is the first Legends of Avantris campaign based on the official D&D module "Curse of Strahd". It follows the Azran Expedition, a group of adventures assembled by Professor Clayton Azran to prove that the fabled land of Barovia really existed.
The campaign was played over three time periods across 2019 and 2020. In May 2019, the unstreamed prologue session was played, along with Death House, the first streamed episode (May 8, 2018). Then the campaign returned weekly on Sundays in August 2019. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the campaign was put on hold until October 24, 2020, when the final four sessions were played.
The campaign is also currently available in a more heavily edited audio-only podcast located on most podcast platforms, where each chapter is split into two 2-hour segments. With the launch of the Official Legends of Avantris Podcast, it was decided that the Curse of Strahdanya campaign will continue to live in its pre-existing separate podcast of "Curse of Strahdanya - A Legends of Avantris Podcast".
Season 4
Root RPG
Root RPG is a (non-canon to the Avantris lore and not set in the world of Avantris) madcap chaotic completed campaign based on Root RPG by Magpie Games, which is based on the boardgame by Leder Games, where a party of woodland critters explores the mysteries that lie in ancient ruins across the "Dimwood". GMed by Mikey, Root was originally streamed weekly, via Twitch, on August 21, 2019, with 1st season being completed on October 23, 2019. Players include Nikkie as Peggy (Root RPG), Andy as Booker (Root RPG), Richie as Grumley (Root RPG), and Kelsey as Hazel (Root RPG). The campaign was revived later using 5th Edition rules, as a separate campaign, called Uprooted: Dimwits of the Dimwood, and included the addition of Derek as Bitsy (Uprooted).
Season 5
Edge of Midnight
Edge of Midnight (EOM) is a intense, body-horror, witch-hunt Druskenvald[6] (formerly Ravenloft) folktale horror adventure canonical campaign (homebrewed), with a 1940s vibe, DMed by Nikkie. Originally streamed in September 28, 2021, via Twitch, it has resumed to being streamed weekly on Wednesday's starting on April 3, 2024. It features players Richie as Briggsy, Andy as Marius, Mace as Yorgrim, Derek as Lethica, Kelsey as Farryn, and Mikey as Jericho. This is the 1st campaign that Mace played as an official main member of Legends of Avantris. The session 0 of this campaign (available on Patreon) is non-canon. If you see some episodes where Derek wasn't there, that's because they were on vacation in Japan. Edge of Midnight is set in Druskenvald (the new Official spelling of this dread domain, as of May 13, 2024)[6], a dark land of endless nights, lost within in a shrouded realm of death, where long forgotten horrors are revealed. So, hop aboard the Ghostlight Express and ride its haunted rails into a Druskenvald[6] folktale!
Season 6
Icebound
Icebound (IB) is a hardcore survival canonical campaign (homebrewed) DMed by Derek. It is currently streamed monthly on Fridays, via Twitch, since October 1, 2021. Players include Mikey as Barnabos, Mace as Taishen, Nikkie as Queenie, Richie as Jornir, and Andy as Skrimm. Icebound is set in the icy tundra continent of Drakkar, with the characters trapped fighting nature et al for their survival and lives. Prepare to survive in a brutal land of ice and snow. Without fire, they'll freeze. Without food, they'll starve. Without each other, all may be lost forever.
The Choice to Head South
The Choice to Head South (TCTHS) is a canon special side story of Icebound, set on the continent of Drakkar (streamed October 27, 2023) we follow the story of three human brothers who choose to leave Ogreton (set during the events of the Icebound campaign) to explore the world and seek their own destinies. DMed by Derek, and streamed via Twitch on November 2023, the players play as the Pork Bros, which include Mikey as Gabagool the eldest brother, Richie as Porkos (used to be called Pork by the Ogres), and Mace as Sausage the youngest brother at age 42 that uses a club. These brothers are all 40+ year old human men, and ex-vassals of Ogreton. Sausage has the sides of their head shaved, with hair that spikes out in all directions like a pineapple, extremely large legs, arms that look like they skipped arm day at the gym, and has their family trait of having a great big gut. Porkos in their simple shepherd's garb, the middle child, is a shepherd whose herds disintegrated during the Grand Explosion, and carries a spear. They are a large man with very broad shoulders, with tiny little legs that skipped leg day, shaved head and has a great big bushy mustache that is curled on the ends. Their balding, married to a human woman named Kimchi, 5'5/5'6", 55 year old oldest brother Gabagool, looks to be in their 50s/60s with a strong widow's peak, dark hair that silvers on the side. They are a butcher with a dirty smock/apron, and a giant meat cleaver.
A Story for Another Time
A Story for Another Time is a canon special side story of Icebound, set on the continent of Drakkar (streamed November 3, 2023). In this special one-shot adventure, we flashback to an ancient great silver dragonborn civilization, as we join its guardians just as they inherit their new sacred duty. Set long before the events of Icebound happened, watch as these loyal protectors keep their honor-bound vigilance, even as they change along with the tomb they guard. Players include Mikey as Ladlelel (Ladle for short), Mace as Laze E. Ness, Richie as Arturar (Goes by Artie), and Andy as Masarer. Masarer wields a 2-handed greatsword and is the snooty unhinged silver dragonborn son of a cheese monger, and the illegitimate son of the emperor. Ladlelel, the double cheerful optimistic silver dragon that wields a giant ladle, grew up in a soup house, whose folk's were masters of Muktuk Stew. Laze E. Ness is a silver dragonborn that wields a Silver Dragon Crescent Blade and is both incredibly sure of himself, and cripplingly paranoid, that once ate 110 feet of hot dogs in 1 sitting. Artie is a silver dragonborn married to a yeti that wields two large dragonborn gauntlets.
The Choice To Head North
The Choice To Head North is a canon special side story of Icebound, set on the continent of Drakkar, and was streamed May 3, 2024. In this session of Icebound, we return to the story of the Pork Bros, a little while after the events of The Choice to Head South (set during the events of the Icebound campaign). Daisy had left by herself to continue her own journey, and now we see what fate has befallen the remaining Pork Bros and their two new, but familiar, allies. DM'ed by Derek, everyone is playing humans from Ogreton, players include Mikey as Gabagool (Human Rogue), Richie as Porkos (Human Barbarian), Andy as Calamari (Human Monk), and Nikkie as Mortadella (Human Wizard).
Season 7
Uprooted: Dimwits of the Dimwood
After the end of the Root RPG homebrewed campaign, Root RPG was later revived using 5th Edition rules and turned into the Avantris take on Root , as a separate completely disconnected from the main Avantris world/timeline campaign. [7], and thus renamed Uprooted: Dimwits of the Dimwood (also referred to as Uprooted). Uprooted is a madcap chaotic unfinished campaign, that is DMed by Mikey, and set in the Dimwood (a setting inspired by the Root boardgame by Leder Games and is not set in the world of Avantris). You don't have to watch the Root RPG campaign first to be able to enjoy this campaign. Uprooted became canon to Avantris lore (but not set in the world of Avantris) and its first season was streamed weekly, via Twitch, from April 26, 2022-June 21, 2022. Playing as woodland critters, Players include Nikkie as Peggy (Uprooted), Andy as Booker (Uprooted), Richie as Grumley (Uprooted), Kelsey as Hazel (Uprooted), and Derek as Bitsy (Uprooted).
Season 8
Once Upon a Witchlight
Once Upon a Witchlight (OUAW) is a fun, madcap, whimsical canonical campaign (mostly homebrewed) DMed by Nikkie. It's streamed weekly on Wednesdays, via Twitch, since August 17, 2022. Players include Derek as Morning Frost, Mikey as Gricko, Richie as Kremy Lecroux, Mace as Gideon, and Andy as Torbek. This campaign is set in the Feywild (and the world of Avantris), starting with the characters going through the Witchlight Carnival, featured by the Wild beyond the Witchlight D&D module, but morphing into Nikkie's own homebrew. During Guy's Night, Derek was on vacation, resulting in the Avantris crew bringing in Andy to play as Torbek. The resulting popularity of Torbek led to establishing Torbek as a full-time player character, after Torbek went through the Avantris Character Process. Season 9
Stardust Rhapsody
Stardust Rhapsody (SDR) is a canonical campaign (homebrewed) set in Space (not set in the same galaxy/plane of existence as Avantris, but it is part of the general Legend of Avantris universe lore-wise), DM'd by Mace (Their first time DMing). This campaign is inspired by 90s anime and science-fantasy, with a Saturday-morning cartoon vibe! It's streamed monthly all day on Saturdays (2 episodes at a time), via Twitch, since August 19, 2023. Players include Derek as Leboosh, Mikey as Chuckles (Stardust Rhapsody), Casey as Dandy, Arya as Kavir, Andy as Pyke, and Richie as Rett. Stardust Rhapsody: Space in D&D adventures.
Season 10
Shroud Over Saltmarsh
Shroud Over Saltmarsh (SOS) is a live Patreon-exclusive weekly coastal adventure canonical campaign (homebrewed), inspired by Wizards' "Ghosts of Saltmarsh.". Airing since January 8, 2024, this campaign is DMed by Mikey, where they have built a new, unique campaign, set in the world of Avantris, with pirates, mystery, and something called "The Ashen Tide!". Players include Derek as Montgomery "Monty" Crumb (Giff Artificer), Andy as Kaiyo Pearlfin (Water Genasi Monk), and Richie as Poros of Malthea (Aasimar Paladin). The first two episode are set to be available on YouTube.
