Season 1
Episodes
Orangutans
The explorer tracks down some of the most endangered animals on the planet in their natural habitats, starting with orangutans in the rainforests of Borneo. Deforestation and poaching have halved the apes' population in the last 60 years, and they're in serious danger of becoming extinct. In the company of indigenous guides and naturalists, he gets a better understanding of how they are surviving against worsening odds caused by the increasing threat of human activity and climate change.
Lions
The explorer journeys to Namibia, and one of the most remote and physically challenging environments on Earth in search of some of the last 100 remaining endangered desert lions in the world. Levison enlists the help of his old friend and bushman guide, Kane, as they follow ancient nomadic hunting routes, crossing dried out riverbeds, scorching desert and rolling savannah on their way to a seasonal oasis that provides a rare sanctuary for wildlife in the seemingly endless desert.
Polar Bears
The explorer visits one of Earth's most remote and physically challenging environments in search of one of the world's most elusive populations of polar bears. Entering their world as the locals do, Levison learns more about the unique lives of these apex predators, their environment and how they're surviving against worsening odds caused by the increasing threat of human activity and climate change.
