Episode 3
In the last of three live episodes, Clare Balding enlists the help of the nation to track down missing dogs who have been separated from their heartbroken families for weeks, months, and sometimes years.
Viewers who have any information about these lost dogs will be urged to contact the programme. All useful leads will be passed on to a UK-wide network of volunteers who specialise in finding missing dogs. As this is the final episode, Clare will be sharing any tearful, yet joyous reunions of dogs and owners.
Clare also showcases stray dogs who are in rescue centres across the UK, and whose owners cannot be located. Can the nation's dog lovers help get them to their rightful homes?
Also this week, roving reporter and Deacon Blue drummer Dougie Vipond visits Ayrshire with his beloved Gordon setter, Jessie. They meet a team of volunteers who reveal clever techniques for tracking down missing dogs, including a special pongy mixture that Jessie cannot resist. Dougie hears the story of Aurora, a tiny Pomeranian missing for ten days in the Ayrshire countryside.
Storm Huntley tests her cute shih-tzu Boo's recall; and finds out how to make it really strong to help keep Boo safe.
Clare shares the tale of brave Pip, a rescue dog from Spain. He disappeared after chasing squirrels and was spotted on CCTV travelling miles across Bristol – even crossing the dangerous Clifton Suspension Bridge. Pip is a podenco; a breed known for their stoicism and independence. Will he make it home safely?
Radzi Chinyanganya meets Ralph, a cute cockerpoo who took a 100-mile trip in a taxi while his owner searched frantically for him in the park.
And Rav Wilding tests out a dog DNA database, with spaniel Lilly and her owner Robin.
