The emperor has many sons, one of them with many gifts to out stand the others. The greed of others' place him in danger, needing a sorceress's protection.

The imperial jade seal is used to negotiate the terms of Yuan Ling's life, however the Emperor is not a man of his word. Arise the fight between the sorcerers and the emperor.

The great mage leaves a task for Qing Chen with his dying breath. Yuan Ling overthrows the palace with the assistance of Qing Chen.

The prince and the dark sorceress's schemes are successful in unbinding the spell which holds the grand sorceress hidden. Qing Chen faces her destiny and is appointed as grand sorceress, meanwhile the Emperor makes plans to challenge his destiny.

As an empress, Qing Chen must give up her powers. In order to escape fate, Qing Chen must challenge the 6 stages of punishment and the test of death. Through death do them apart, the Emperor joins Qing Chen in the battle to defy fate.

Qing Chen trades all for the safety of her emperor and enters the circle of nine transformation. The circle resets the universe to undo what has been done. Qing Chen finds mages have been slaughtered and attempts to rescue those that are left.

Qing Chen sense danger and disguises as a Liang soldier causing sparks of distrust from sorceresses. She is abandoned by her tribesmen but fate brings Yuan Liang to her rescue once again.

Qing Chen is interrogated for being suspicious by those who do not recognize her, but she proves her loyalty by healing Yuan Ling of poison. In this time also, she ties her fate to Yuan Ling.

Yuan Ling is successful in triumphing over enemies who kidnapped Qing Chen. He senses an enemy within, and confronts Yuan Xi about it, however Yuan Xi is murdered in the process.

Qing Chen chases the truth of the dark sorceress to the capital and acquaints Yuan Zhan. She approaches him with motive, however receives his help to be nursed back to health. Meanwhile, the palace receives news of Yuan Xi's death.

The emporer investigates his son's death and all circumstancial evidence points to Yuan Ling. Yuan Xi's mother is desperate for Yuan Ling to pay the price, using her grandson to create false accusations.

The emperor visits Yuan Ling's mother and questions why she does not beg for his mercy. From love and affection, the emperor gives Yuan Ling 3 days to prove his innocence.

Yuan Ling's promised 3 days are reached and he proves his innocence with witnesses. The truth behind Yuan Xi's death is revealed making sorrow in the emperor's heart.

12th prince Yuan Li, returns to the palace at the emperor's call and takes an interest in astrology. Meanwhile, Yuan Zhang requests a personal favor from the emperor despite his orders to stay out of political affairs to keep a promise to Qing Chen.

Qing Chen goes inside the Celestial Dance House to investigate matters of the dark sorceress. She finds the dance house has been drugging the ladies to keep them to stay, indicating that it may not be all that it seems.

The dark sorceress of the Celestial Dance House holds her suspicions for Qing Chen, and traps her. Meanwhile, the dark sorceress and it's owner scheme to assassinate the emperor on his outing with intentions to blame it on the meandering skies.

Qing Chen battle's the dark sorceress in the secret chambers of the Celestial Dance House until Yuan Ling arrives. The dark sorceress is defeated and an unknown power escapes holding the great mage hostage.

Yuan Ling hears Qing Chen's plan to reside in Yuan Zhan's house and joins her in concern for him. While the two brothers continue investigation on the dark sorcery of the Celestial Dance House, they question the identities of the captured women.

Yuan Ling falls helplessly in love with Qing Chen and is unable to hide it. She however, is firm to draw the line. Yuan Ling investigates Qing Chen's past in search for clues of who she is and why she is absent from everyone's memories.

Qing Chen disguises as the Feng families missing daughter for her investigation. Meanwhile, princess of the A-Chai Tribe has her eyes set on Yuan Ling and wishes to marry him.

Qing Chen claims to be Minister Feng's daughter to uncover the truth of the empresses death and reinstate meandering skies. The emperor calls for Qing Chen and she wins his trust through careful preparation and studies of scriptures.

Yuan Ling is weary of Qing Chen's decisions, whilst on the other hand Yuan Zhan wishes to differentiate himself and assists Qing Chen from all aspects. The A'Chai Tribe sends urgent word to proceed with strengthening the countries ties.

The emperor refuses to accept Yuan Ling's decision to decline the offer of marriage and orders him to solitude. Meanwhile, Qing Chen locates a scented sachet identical to the one found from the the dark sorceress.

Qing Chen is revealed as an imposter but the leader of the dark sorceress, Ding Shui, warns Minister Feng to keep her close. Meanwhile, Yuan Ling chases an assassin back to the palace.

Qing Chen sides with Yuan Ming to find and defeat his wife's murderer. The two prepare a banquet in commemoration of the late Empress, and the dark sorceress waits an opportunity to strike.

Qing Chen proves the mages and meandering skies innocent to the emperor. The dark sorceress reveals herself and strikes Qing Chen, but critically injures Yuan Ling.

A deeply injured Yuan Ling recovers quickly and Qing Chen is touched by his actions, deciding to accept his love.

Yuan Ming gives order to the dark sorceress in preparation for the future. Meanwhile, the emperor orders meandering skies to be reinstated and Qing Chen participates in the selection of Yuan Ling's wife.

Under the emperor's orders the challenge to select the most suitable wife for Yuan Ling starts. Qing Chen and the princess of the A'Chai Tribe compete in 3 rounds to be married into the royal family.

Qing Chen forsees danger in Yuan Ling's near future. The emperor orders the final 3 contestants to participate in the royal military training session.

The dark sorceress overtakes the magic circle within meandering skies, allowing all powers to be absorbed if used. Meanwhile, Yuan Ming's plans are over head by Yuan Ji, and desperate attempts are made to convince him otherwise.

Yuan Ming blames Yuan Ji's death on the other brothers and knows no remorse. Meanwhile, the emperor wishes to expedite the marriage between two countries.

Luan Fei longs to uphold Yuan Ming's wishes of dethroning the crown prince. She notifies him of her pregnancy, using his love to manipulate him and together they try to seek refuge in a neighboring country.

Qing Chen visits Luan Fei and hands her a potion to fake her death for 10 days, in efforts to assist the couple. Luan Fei revives and Yuan Ming attempts to murder her again.

Luan Fei's fatality reaches the palace along with news of Yuan Ming's death off a cliff. Meanwhile, Yuan Zhan is successful in negotiations with the Liang State army.

Minister Feng alerts the emperor that Qing Chen is in fact a sorceress. The emperor puts her to test to prove her innocence and Qing Chen is appointed as the imperial female guard.

Qing Chen looses a lot of energy battling the magic circle, and looses her rights to marry into the imperial family. Yuan Ling feels certain of the memories he obtained in the magic circle and visits the elder sorceress for directions.

Yuan Li discovers Ming Yan is a female and sighs with relief. Meanwhile, Yuan Ling takes Qing Chen to meandering skies in order to find the truth of his confusing memories and learns the truth.

Yuan Ling begins to distance Yuan Zhan in caution of the events of the past. Meanwhile, the emperor decides to side with Liang State and orders Yuan Ling to kill the princess of A'Chai Tribe.

Yuan Ling visits Yuan Li with questions to increase Qing Chen's time left in the current dimension and sacrifices a portion of his life for her. Yuan Ling sets out in urgency to find the remaining pebbles.

The king of the A'Chai Tribe passes away and news reaches the princess in the heavenly capital. She seeks an audience with the emperor and demands he choose between the rivaling sovereigns.

Yuan Zhan hears of Qing Chen's need for the sacred pebbles and retrieves one from his mother. Meanwhile, the emperor forces Yuan Ling to choose between Qing Chen and her life.

Yuan Ling and Duo Xia, princess of the A'Chai Tribes marriage is confirmed as the emperor threatens him with Qing Chen's life. Meanwhile, the ministers of the court gather to discuss the appointment of a new crown prince.

The prince of Liang State, Xiao Xu, sends assassins to Duo Xia on her wedding day, however they prove no match for Yuan Ling which angers Mukesha. Yuan Zhan chases after the Xiao Xu but Yuan Ming holds him back allowing him to escape.

Yuan Ling's faith towards Yuan Zhan is restored. He leaves Qing Chen in Yuan Zhan's care as he rides off to war with Liang State. Meanwhile, Qing Chen senses dark sorcery and finds Yuan Ming.

The identities of Mo Bu Ping and Qing Chen are revealed to the emperor, but the two manage to escape in time before arrest. Qing Chen is stopped by Yuan Ming outside the palace gates as Yuan Zhan struggles to fight him.

Qing Chen thrusts herself onto Yuan Zhan's sword to protect him from future accusations. Meanwhile, the emperor is not pleased of Yuan Ming's return from the dead and searches for ways to prevent confrontation with the Yuan Hao.

Princess Duo Xia, meets with tribal leaders in attempts to stop Mukesha's coup d'etat, but his influence proves too strong. Meanwhile, the emperor shows intent to annihilate the mages.

The prince of Liang State Xiao Xu, is successful in obtaining information of army supply routes from Yuan Ming and make plans with Mukesha to strike the Yuan Hao.

Yuan Li and Yuan Zhan uses trickery to help Qing Chen and Mo Bu Ping out of execution. Elder Tao Yao is killed in battle with Yuan Ming, and princess Duo Xia blames herself for the coup.

Qing Chen escapes from the emperor and goes to Yuan Ling in the battle fields. Yuan Ling sense unrest in the heavenly capital upon Qing Chen's arrival. Meanwhile, the emperor is told of Yuan Ling's heritage.

The emporer commands Yuan Zhan to take over the Black Army. Meanwhile, Mukesha breaks his promise to Duo Xia and attacks Taoyang City whilst Duo Xia and Yuan Ling march to Yuan Hao. Yuan Ling continues forward and hangs Xiao Xu.

Yuan Ling is successful in saving army supplies, and Yuan Ming visits to inform him of his mother's real identity as a dark sorceress. Later, Yuan Ming is killed in battle and Tao Yang City is absorbed, which leaves Yuan Che critically wounded.

Duo Xia agrees to divorce Yuan Ling and marry Mukesha in return for his retraction of forces. Qing Chen and Duo Xia plan to assassinate Mukesha on the night of their wedding; however, Qing Chen's late arrival leads to a fatality.

Yuan Ling heads towards the emperor's palace with the intention to overthrow the emperor. He challenges the emperor in a duel and succeeds the throne. Meanwhile, Yuan Zhan hears of his mother's suicide and avenges her death by armoring up.

Qing Chen and Yuan Li's time runs out as they slowly begin to fade from the world. The dark sorceress hands the last sacred pebble to Qing Chen and demands the circle of nine transformations be opened, to be united with the former emperor.
