The episode opens with Davey telling Mary about his childhood and his father. He mentions how we worked for Mr. Lombardi. He talks about how he would tell his children and wife ""mean things."" Then Davey asks Mary to bring a note out to the police. Mary is overjoyed, but Davey reassures her that he'll be watching her the whole time. Mary reads the note: Unless my demands are met in 30 minutes, I'm gonna kill Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman. On the outside, as Mary comes out of the Chinese Laundry, Loretta and everyone start to cheer. The police asks her to come closer, but Davey pokes his head out of a hole in the boards. Jesus Jarerra gives us a quick recap of what just happened. The police offers Mary a walky-talky. Tom makes sure his wife doesn't get hurt as he asks Sgt. Foley if her life is jeopardized. Clete Mizenheimer gives us more information, but he and the mobile camera crew are in the way. Sgt.
