MasterChef - Season 4

Home cooks present dishes to the judges in the season premiere. 100 homecooks from around the country compete for a Masterchef apron and their chance of winning $250,000.00.

More home chefs cook for the judges hoping their dishes will allow them to become a contestant in the Masterchef competition.

The judges continue to winnow down the competition in the final round of auditions, but the stakes are raised as the remaining hopefuls are put to the ultimate test in an intense lamb challenge. Then, the Top 19 contestants compete in their first mystery box challenge of the season and must create an exceptional dish using the most basic mystery box ingredients. Later, the contestants participate in the season's first emotional elimination round.

The top nineteen contestants face a mystery box of four of the most basic and simple of ingredients. A winner is chosen and taken to the Masterchef pantry and shown three of the finest ingredients of the culinary world, and given the advantage of choosing which ingredient would be cooked by all of the other contestants and given immunity from elimination. Winners and losers are chosen and a contestant is sent home.

In their first team challenge, the Top 18 home cooks face their pickiest judges yet when they visit a local elementary school and are tasked to create a healthy, balanced meal for over 300 school children. Later the losing team assembles in the Masterchef kitchen where six members of the losing team are chosen by the team leader to participate in the dreaded pressure test. A contestant is sent home

In this episode's mystery box challenge Gordon Ramsay cooks alongside the home cooks and prepares a dish using the mystery box ingredients. The winner of the mystery box challenge chooses the dish the rest of the contestants must prepare in the elimination round and is given immunity and also the opportunity to try and rectify a perceived wrong by someone from the previous episode's pressure test. A contestant is sent home.

The remaining 16 home cooks compete in a team challenge and cook a hearty and balanced steak meal for 101 firefighters. The losing team will face a pressure test and cook their best eggs benedict dish. Later, the bottom four contestants from the previous challenge will try their luck in Las Vegas for the first time in MASTERCHEF history. The four home cooks will split into two teams to prepare their most impressive burger dish at Gordon Ramsay BurGR at Planet Hollywood. The losing team will go head to head in a cook-off that will send one contestant home for good.

In order to choose a loser from the last episode's pressure test the cooks prepare burger dishes at Gordon Ramsay BurGR in Las Vegas.Two teams of two compete to make the best burgers that are voted on by the customers and their fellow competitors. A losing teaam is chosen who must now compete in a head to head competition to see who remains in Masterchef and who goes home. A losing contestant is chosen from this special elimination contest but is given an opportunity rarely given to a losing contestant.

A mystery-box challenge involving exotic foreign ingredients from all over the world takes place. Later Joe Bastianich's mother, Chef Lidia Bastianich is invited into the Masterchef kitchen to help judge and to demonstrate the technique involved in cooking Agnolotti to some of the Masterchef contestants while two are excluded. Agnolotti is a stuffed pasta dish. Then all of the chef contestants except the winner of the Mystery Box challenge are judged on their Agnolotti. A contestant leaves the Masterchef kitchen.

The contestants find themselves on the set of the hit show "Glee" where they are divided into two teams selected by none other than star Jane Lynch who plays Sue Sylvester on the show. The teams then cook over a hundred meals for the cast and crew of "Glee" who then vote for a winning team. The losing team then gathers in the Masterchef kitchen where they must face the dreaded pressure test. In this episode they must prepare a lemon meringue pie but without using any lemons. A contestant is sent home.

The contestants deal with a mystery-box challenge that involves an unusual ingredient and a limited pantry; Season 3 winner Christine Ha introduces the the three proteins for tonight's elimination challenge, and the judges allow the winner of the mystery box challenge the chance to choose from chicken, catfish, or live dungeons crab for one cook to use, and then one of the other two proteins for the rest of the challengers to cook with. Christine Ha helps judge the elimination challenge and one contestant is sent home.

Gordon Ramsay, Graham Elliot and Joe Bastianich - introduce the remaining 12 home cooks to flavor scientist Aaron and his fiancé Anna. The contestants will be preparing the meal for their wedding reception.

The masterchefs begin this episode with a mystery box challenge that tasks the chefs with creating a dish for Eva Longoria who chose the ingredients and helps judge this mystery box. After a winner is selected as usual the winner is given immunity from the elimination challenge and also allowed to pick what her fellow contestants will have to cook and a chance to burn one of her competitors. A winning dish was selected and a losing dish sent its creator home.

The chefs find themselves on the beach formerly known as Surf City USA where they are divided into two teams and asked to cook fish tacos for 101 hungry surfers. The winning team was selected as the first team to receive 51 votes for their fish taco dish. The masterchefs then meet in the Masterchef kitchen where the losing team selects who among them must face the pressure test. In this episode the unlucky few must prepare a chicken breast three different ways as preferred by each one of the three judges. A very hard pressure test ends with a contestant leaving the Masterchef kitchen.

The masterschefs begin this episode with a mystery box challenge where they must create their own sausage from a wide assortment of meats and use it to create a dish for the judges. A winner is chosen and allowed to choose the protein for the rest of the chefs to use in the elimination challenge. The choices for this elimination was Ham, Mushrooms, or Shrimp. Mushrooms were selected by the mystery box winner. The judges then allowed the winner of the mystery box challenge to select four of the contestants who would cook with delicious wild mushrooms, and four who could only cook with canned mushrooms. Winners and losers were chosen by the judges and a contestant was sent home.

The cooks compete in an overnight challenge; the losing team faces a spun sugar dessert pressure test.

Previously eliminated contestants get the chance to get back in the competition by perfectly frying an egg and preparing a salmon dish.

The cooks must prepare a T-bone steak dish; the challenge winner assigns a type of poultry to the other contestants.

The cooks must re-create popular dishes served at a fine-dining restaurant in downtown Los Angeles; the losing team must prepare a perfect plate of fried calamari with a side of marinara sauce.

The judges get some very special help from their sons, who stop by the MASTERCHEF kitchen to judge the next mystery box challenge. Then, the contestants face the daunting task of recreating one of the greatest dishes the judges ever tasted. Later, in a field challenge, the remaining five home cooks visit a ranch where they will each prepare one Southern-inspired dish as part of a special summer luncheon for local charity volunteers. After the first part of the competition, two home cooks will advance to the finals and the Top Four, while the bottom three contestants will face a pressure test that will end the competition for one home cook.
