Their opponents don't possess the same level of experience in their ranks, with only captain Nicolae Stanciu and midfielder Razvan Marin appearing for their country more than 50 times, but they do have the better record in matches between the nations. With four of the third-placed teams progressing to the knockout stage, along with the group winners and runners-up, even defeats from their opening two matches would see either nation still in with a chance of progressing.
