Season 1
Series 1 tells the story of Detective Jay Swan (Aaron Pedersen), assigned to investigate the mysterious disappearance of two young farmhands on an outback cattle station, one a local Indigenous football hero and the other a white backpacker. Working together with local police sergeant Emma James (Judy Davis), the investigation uncovers drug trafficking in the town, and a past injustice that threatens the fabric of the whole community.

Blood Ties
As the police search for Marley and Reese, the early morning interstate bus arrives in Patterson bringing trouble in two forms — Larry Dime, convicted pedophile and Marley's uncle who has been released on parole after 10 years in jail; and Georgia Clarke, a teenager who has seen the news and recognized Reese as her boyfriend Simon, who went missing two years earlier.
Chasing Ghosts
As time runs out to find the missing boys, pressure mounts on Shevorne to reveal what she knows.
Silence
With questions hanging over Marley's return and the whereabouts of Reese, Emma brings Marley in for a formal interview. He reveals little, so Jay and Emma take him back to the shed where he was found, and their suspicion only grows. Nothing Marley says adds up with what Jay can see on the ground, and Marley is visibly shocked when they tell him that Reese is not his real name.
The Waterhole
As Reese's murder reverberates through the small town of Patterson, his grieving mother Liz asks to hold her son's memorial at Black Springs. However when the request is refused by the local Aboriginal Elders, citing that Black Springs is a ‘sorry place' — Emma is confused. Black Springs is on her family's land, how can it be a sorry place?
The Truth
After Marley confesses what he knows, Jay hides him to ensure his safety. Emma confronts her brother about the land deal, while Jay tries to find out what really happened to Shevorne.

Hollywood Squares involves two contestants who play tic-tac-toe to win money and prizes. The "board" for the game is a vertical stack of open-faced cubes, each occupied by a celebrity seated at a desk and facing the contestants. The celebrities are asked questions and the contestants judge the legitimacy of their answers to win the game.
The Handmaid's Tale
The Handmaid's Tale is the story of life in the dystopia of Gilead, a totalitarian society in what was formerly the United States. Facing environmental disasters and a plunging birthrate, Gilead is ruled by a twisted fundamentalism in its militarized ‘return to traditional values'. As one of the few remaining fertile women, Offred is a Handmaid in the Commander's household, one of the caste of women forced into sexual servitude as a last desperate attempt to repopulate the world. In this terrifying society, Offred must navigate between Commanders, their cruel Wives, domestic Marthas, and her fellow Handmaids – where anyone could be a spy for Gilead – all with one goal: to survive and find the daughter that was taken from her.
