Eduard reveals he knows how to access the waters of Vysehrad. Magda meets in secret with Bishop Laska, who tells her that if Sikorsky fails to exterminate Lausman, it will be up to her to do the job.

Magda instructs that Lausman should be 'dried out', but when his test results confirm his exceptional genetic status, she tries to rescind the order. Eduard's closing in on the entrance to the waters.

Magda concocts a plan to convince Lausman to marry her, as she's now sure that he is the nixes' Messiah. Lausman and Robert are becoming increasingly concerned about Eduard and Johana's wellbeing.

Jara has lost interest in the nix case since being hypnotised by Magda. The bottled water scheme is jeopardised. The magic water is revealed to grant a youthful appearance, but there are side-effects.

A tank of algae is poured into the lake that supplies water to Prague, causing a humanitarian catastrophe. Jara is cured of her distraction, and Magda plots to become the next chairman of the council.

Magda tells Lausman she knows where the rest of the ancient scrolls are, but when he takes the bait and volunteers to retrieve them, peril awaits. Jara's hot on his heels, but will she arrive in time?
