Music businessman Donovan hasn't received any rent for seven months from his tenants and his costs are spiralling out of control. The courts find in his favour. When he finally does get his property back, he makes an disturbing discovery.

A retired secretary has to visit her tenant in prison in order to retake possession of her buy-to-let flat. Elsewhere in Manchester, a mother looks to a housing charity for help when she believes the property she is renting is making her kids ill.

Property developer Alex calls in an eviction specialist after finding that he could be arrested if he attempts to oust squatters from a derelict pub he purchased. In Peterborough, the Council receive a complaint from a family threatened with an illegal eviction. Meanwhile, a woman regrets letting her flat to a mother and daughter after trouble with late rent payments turned into a nightmare.
