Marina is very busy today: it's her daughter Tanya's birthday and she has an ultrasound in the morning she attends with her husband Artyom, which confirms the symptoms of hydrocephaly in the foetus. Marina is feeling down, lets Artyom go to work: she'll prepare the daughter's birthday party herself. Marina comes to an unusual meeting with 19-year old Zhenya who was introduced by her friend Sveta. Zhenya wants to work with Marina, but not in the flower business. It turns out that Marina is a pimp who sets prostitutes up with respectable clients.

Marina cuts the hotel mattress open and, with Galya's help, puts Sveta's body inside. She's going to move it later in her flower van. However, the plan is under risk of failure. First, a shrewd housekeeper decides to steal the mattress, and Galya stops her literally at the last moment, then Marina's van turns out to be broken, and she is mounting on the roof of her own car. But the most serious complication is leaving Tanya who feels unwell at home alone.

Children find Sveta's body while playing in a quarry. Detective Vera Martynova is called to the crime scene. She detects suspicious traces on the ground. Vera's boss, being furious about Vera's coming to crime scene investigation in the quarry drunk, hands the case over to her colleague Maxim. Zhenya is worried about her missing friend Sveta. In her flat, she finds a cache with photos and video of Sveta having sex with an unknown man.

Zhenya tells Marina that the police found Sveta's body. The girl pretended not to have recognized the victim. Marina demands from Zhenya to tell the police that the friend has returned. But the police demands Zhenya to bring her friend around. Marina talks her former girl into playing along and to passing as Sveta in the PD. Brother of Katya's boyfriend, Vlad, is willing to help the guys to find the money. He sends Katya under cover to a minor drug dealer from her school.

Marina and Galya want to find out whom Sveta and her boyfriend Misha were blackmailing. They are confident that he is the killer. Marina wants to locate Misha so that he clears things out. Misha's address must be stored in the GPS system of Sveta's car, which she parked near the hotel on the day of her death. When Marina and Galya reach the parking spot, it turns out that the car was towed away. It's impossible to get into the tow-away pound with Sveta's ID, and Marina and Galya trick their way there.

Marina is worried by Artyom's infidelity. Vera gets obsessed by the Sveta's murder investigation. Marina and Galya manage to find out her boyfriend's address. But when they come there they see Misha being forced into a big black car by some people. They are bodyguards of the banker who was blackmailed by Sveta and Misha.

Vera suspects that Sveta's body was moved by a woman and is going to look for her at hotels of a small chain that bought these mattresses. At Galya's hotel, Vera and Max find out about the replacement of the mattress and demand to show the old one. Galya is panicking and Marina is looking for a similar mattress around the city. Zhenya, who has escaped from the banker's bodyguards, finds Marina and tells her about the attack.

2014. Marina works at a flower warehouse, Galya is her colleague. On their way to friends' country house, Marina and Artyom witness a horrible car accident. A son of a public officer hits Artyom's friends while they were crossing the road. FSB officer want to make Artyom change his witness statement, but the man refuses. The Lavrovs start to suffer various troubles: Artyom is accused of medical malpractice, gets fired and is sent to a reprimand prison; social service officers come to their home and compose an act on sub-standard living conditions for children.

Marina has a heart-to-heart talk with Katya: the girl decided that mother came to save her from this reckless move. For the first time in many years, they find common ground. Marina gives Katya all the remaining money for her to pay to the police. Vera comes to Galya's hotel with forensics, but they don't find traces of Sveta's being there. Vera's boss, having found out that she got a warrant behind his back, fires her.
