El David ha fet unes proves per entrar als Barcelona Dragons i l'han contractat per ser el waterboy, el noi que porta l'aigua. El quarterback de l'equip es lesiona i el David el substitueix, llavors, quatre jugadors més causen baixa després que la iaia els intoxiqui per equivocació. L'entrenador està apunt de retirar l'equip pocs dies abans de jugar la gran final, però el David el convenç que ell trobarà els substituts: l'Emma, el Ramon, l'Stasky i el Lopes. Després d'un entrenaments lamentables, arriba el dia del gran partit i els substituts no estan prou preparats per jugar.
