Season 1
The drama depicts the last six months of Park Jung Hwan's life, one of the prosecutors working on anti-corruption department. Before the brain tumor takes his life, he is determined to expose the frauds and misconducts committed by his superior, Lee Tae Joon. He also struggles to make amends with his ex-wife Shin Ha Kyung and their daughter Ye Rin, for all of his indifferent attitudes in the past.

Episode 1
In order to appoint Lee Tae Joon as chief prosecutor, Jung Hwan has to remove dirty evidence and to blackmail important figures. When Ha Kyung's daughter is involved in a bus accident, she will do everything to reveal the real truth. Hyun Sun discovers something odd with Jung Hwan when she does a medical check on him.
Episode 2
Ha Kyung reveals to Jung Hwan about his current disease. Jung Hwan is devistated by it and tries to find a surgeon with his sister, but the only one that is able to do it has currently an arrest warrant attached to his name.
Episode 3
Jung Hwan is in coma after his risky surgery. Ha Kyung witnessed the killing of the only witness to frame Tae Sub, while Tae Joon is trying to save his brother by using an arrest warrant to silence Ha Kyung.
Episode 4
Jung Hwan suddenly wakes up out of his coma, but his doctor wasn't able to complete remove his tumor. When he is told about Ha Kyung, Jung Hwan does his best to get her out. The clash between Lee Tae Soon and Yoon Ji Sook becomes bigger when she is taking control over the investigation.
Episode 5
Jung Hwan creates a plan with a statement of Kim Sang Min in order to bail out Ha Kyung, although she does not approve his plan and warns him that she will investigate him until his last day.
Episode 6
When Ha Kyung is being released from prison, she acts to her promise and orders the arrest of Tae Sub and Sang Min. Yun Jin expresses her thoughts to Jung Hwan and his mother.
Episode 7
A war is about to break out between Tae Joon and Ji Sook when Ji Sook orders Ha Kyung to investigate and arrest some people close to Tae Joon, but is Ji Sook as clean as Ha Kyung thought her to be?
Episode 8
Gook Hyun overrules Ji Sook's command and tells Ha Kyung to continue her investigation. After meeting with Jung Hwang, Ha Kyung starts to dig into Minister Ji Sook. When Jung Hwan is being released, he calls Ye Rin to perform her song at her school.
Episode 9
In order to retrieve a document, Jung Hwan makes a trade with Kim Sang Min to write Ocean Capital to his name. This trade however goes sideways when Minister Ji Sook interferes. Yun Jin has been given a choice to stick with Jung Hwan or to betray him.
Episode 10
When Jung Hwan has been outruled again by Kang Jae and Tae Joon, he swaps over to a new plan. To take Kang Jae as bait, he gives him a choice to choose between his daughter or Tae Joon.
Episode 11
Jung Hwan sets his plan in motion to deal with Tae Joon's right hand Kang Jae. Tae Joon is now forced to go head to head with the government to secure his ambition. Jung Hwan's mother finds out about his condition.
Episode 12
Jung Hwan finds another lead to reveal the military evasion secret and requires the help of Seo Dong Hoon of which he denied to marry his sister previously.
Episode 13
Ye Rin finds out about her fathers condition. Jung Hwan got his hands on the enlistment fraud documents, however Minister Ji Sook plans for a fail-safe he never thought of. After a dirty document got released, Ha Kyung now fully supports Jung Hwan.
Episode 14
Jung Hwan and Ha Kyung are starting their attack towards Tae Joon. In order to clear himself, he once more has to team up with Minister Ji Sook and requests the help of Kang Jae.
Episode 15
Now with Ji Sook appointed as Special Investigator, Jung Hwan faces an even tougher battle to imprison both Ji Sook and Tae Joon. To find the 27 million won, which used Tae Joon for his corruption, Jung Hwan and Ha Kyung are planning to set a trap once again for Kang Jae.
Episode 16
Kang Jae is convinced by Jung Hwan and tells him a lead he can use in order to catch Tae Joon. Tae Joon now plans to frame Kang Jae for a murder he did not commit.
Episode 17
Yun Jin has no choice but to tell the location when she has been discovered in which Tae Joon starts a manhunt in order to obtain that crime video. Ji Sook orders a search and find operation.
Episode 18
When Ji Sook regains that damaging chip by hitting Ha Kyung, Jung Hwan now heads to Tae Joon to imprison Ji Sook for attempted murder.
Episode 19
When Jung Hwan comes into possession of a very damaging video of Ji Sook, he manages to slip it through to Tae Joon. Ha Kyung's state becomes critical.
