Cambridgeshire air ambulance are called to a serious traffic collision near Wellingborough where a motorcyclist has been thrown from his motorbike with severe injuries. The team work fast to discover the extent of any potentially life-threatening injuries. The casualty is suffering from extensive pain; the challenge for the team is to airlift him safely to the nearest trauma centre for urgent medical care.
Off the south coast, the Hamble Lifeboat crew are tasked to rescue a sailor stranded aboard stricken yacht with her elderly father. A trip down memory lane turns into a terrifying ordeal after engine failure leaves the pair unable to change course and risk being dragged by the tide into the busy shipping lanes on the Solent.
A second air ambulance team is immediately dispatched to a large scale cycling event in Essex where a cyclist has mysteriously fallen from his bike, sustaining a worrying head injury. The rider is highly agitated and the crew suspect a serious brain injury. Under sedation it's a race against time as the team monitor the injuries whilst transporting him to hospital to undergo emergency surgery.
And on the East coast, Hornsea Inshore Rescue crew are on a call out to a stranded jet ski that's dangerously adrift and being dragged out to sea. With an alert of an 11 year old girl aboard, the team urgently need to locate the vessel but with waves rising, spotting a small jet ski in a vast ocean is a challenge.
