The temple has been dedicated to a statue of an eleven-faced, thousand-armed Kannon. The thousand arms are said to be able to save all the people in the world. This is the story of how Kiyomizu-dera Temple has helped people, regardless of their status and affiliations, overcome their suffering and sadness since 1,200 years ago, and how people still find solace in the temple today.
