Episode 1
The night before Christmas Eve, five-week-old Lucas disappears inexplicably from his home. When his mother Jenni is woken up by her daughter Nicole on Christmas Eve morning, she has no memory of what happened. In addition, her partner Salle has also disappeared. Police Alice is soon involved and suspects that a crime may be behind the child's disappearance. At the same time, the police are looking for 14-year-old Emma who is pregnant and on the run. The newly moved-in Danish BVC nurse Maria will celebrate Christmas with her brother who has been suffering from a brain injury since childhood, but the plans are dashed.
Episode 2
53 days before Lucas' disappearance. Lucas is not yet born and Jenni has a difficult pregnancy. Sambon Salle is struggling with several jobs to make ends meet while he has to take care of the couple's daughter Nicole. Police Alice is on leave to take care of her sick leave husband, but the arrangement wears on their relationship and Alice makes a mistake. In Denmark, the BVC nurse Maria begins to suspect that a woman is deliberately starving her newborn daughter, but no one at work believes her.
Episode 3
The days before Lucas disappears, Jenni is exhausted and feels useless. Salle is desperately looking for a solution to the family's situation and makes a fateful decision. Maria, who has moved to Stockholm, will be the family's new BVC nurse. After a home visit, she becomes worried about Lucas. In the end, she confronts Salle. Alice interrupts her leave and starts working on a span, but her affair with Stellan risks catching up with her.
Episode 4
The day after Luca's disappearance, the police call for Salle to stay away. Both he and Jenni are suspected of having something to do with the disappearance and Jenni is arrested. BVC nurse Maria, who suspects that Lucas has been ill at home, takes pity on 14-year-old Emma who is pregnant and on the run. Maria opens up to her. Alice searches for both Salle and Lucas and discovers new clues that lead her in an unexpected direction.
Episode 5
One week after Luca's disappearance, there is a breakthrough in the investigation. But Alice thinks something is wrong. She wants to continue the search for a perpetrator, but the relationship with Stellan degenerates, which affects both her work and private life. When Maria receives an unexpected offer from Emma, she chooses to risk everything to help Emma give birth to the child. Nicole is allowed to live with her grandmother and has difficulty sleeping due to a secret she did not dare to tell.
Episode 6
The truth about Lucas' disappearance. Alice does not believe in Jenny's confession and is convinced that the culprit is at large. However, she is suspended from work after the affair with Stellan became known. Shortly afterwards, she is reached by information pointing to a new main suspect. Emma regrets her decision to leave her daughter to Maria. But Maria does not intend to give up so easily.
