Kommissar Stubbe muss sich unangenehmer Fragen erwehren. Tante Charlotte vermutet aufgrund Stubbes häufiger nächtlicher Abwesenheit eine 'Affäre' ihres angeheirateten Neffen. Und sie hat Recht, Stubbe ist frisch verliebt. Nur sieht Stubbe weder einen Grund, Charlotte irgendetwas zu 'beichten', noch aus-gerechnet ihr zu erzählen, wie glücklich er mit seiner neuen Freundin Claudia ist. Seiner Tochter Christiane gegenüber fällt ihm dies noch schwerer, auch wenn diese aus demselben Grunde wie Stubbe kaum noch zu Hause ist. Als die beiden berechtigterweise neugierigen Stubbe-Frauen ihn ins 'Kreuzverhör' nehmen, wird Stubbe gerade noch im rechten Moment zu einem Tatort gerufen, um sein kleines, romantisches Geheimnis zu bewahren.
