In November 2019, seventeen-year-old Wilma disappears and the whole of Uddevalla gets involved in the disappearance. After a few days, blood is found in her and her boyfriend's apartment, but Wilma is still missing.

In October 2004, an unknown man unprovoked stabs to death an eight-year-old boy and a 56-year-old woman in the middle of the street. Before the woman dies, she manages to say that the perpetrator was in his 20s.

The years pass but the police have not given up on finding the double murderer. After a change in the law in 2019, the police are given the opportunity to use commercial genealogy databases to find the perpetrator.

A 33-year-old man is found shot to death near Sundsvall. It turns out to be a man who has made many enemies, and at the beginning of the investigation the police list about fifty people with possible motives.

On June 12, 2017, an elderly couple is found brutally murdered and taped up at home on their farm outside Mantorp. To solve the murder, the homicide investigators must now use meticulous police work in the class of CSI.
