The Biggest Loser - Season 10
Season 10
Episodes
Week 1
Season 10 kicks off with a new theme of "paying it forward" and 21 contestants vying for a spot at the ranch to get healthy and change their lives forever. With obesity now one of the leading causes of preventable death in the United States, "The Biggest Loser" wanted to broaden their reach this season, pay it forward and motivate communities - not just contestants - to get healthy. So trainers Bob Harper and Jillian Michaels and host Alison Sweeney travel to seven cities in the premiere episode, with each trainer leading community fitness challenges like a one-mile race or a 500 step-up competition. In each of the seven cities - Detroit, Los Angeles, Portland, Atlanta, Phoenix, Oklahoma City and Boston - there will also be three contestant hopefuls competing in the challenges. The two candidates who complete their fitness challenge first win a spot at the ranch, while those who don't make it will get a chance to vie for a spot on the show in a later episode. Guest starring in the premiere will be three popular past season contestants -- season eight winner Danny Cahill, season seven finalist Mike Morelli and season five finalist Mark Kruger.
Week 2
It's a week of surprises for the contestants, starting with news from host Alison Sweeney that the competition is getting bigger with the addition of two new players who didn't make it to the ranch in the premiere but have been saved by trainers Bob Harper and Jillian Michaels. After all of the contestants get through their first grueling workout, they get eye-opening news from Dr. Huizenga about their health, revelations that are shared with surprise guests. Then the surprise of an early weigh-in - and a twist resulting in more players falling below the yellow line - comes as a shock to all the contestants. Later, they race each other in their first challenge, and then must make a difficult and emotional decision to determine which player will go home first.
Week 3
One contestant expresses a wish to go home this week, creating drama and tension in the house, while another group of players form a secret alliance. Trainer Bob Harper puts the contestants through a grueling workout, zeroing in on one player he thinks has shown him disrespect, and later, trainer Jillian Michaels tries to bring out the athlete in two contestants she thinks need extra attention. Tennis superstar Anna Kournikova gives all the players tennis lessons for a total body workout before a tennis ball pop challenge. Then the players are surprised by another early weigh-in, and those who fall below the yellow line face a wild elimination challenge involving 175 tons of sand before another contestant is send home.
Week 4
After hearing from host Alison Sweeney that two people will be going home this week, the contestants face their first temptation in the form of cupcakes, one of which represents a potentially huge prize for the winner that could grow more valuable each week. Later, chef Curtis Stone shows them that desserts can still be part of their lives by teaching them to prepare delicious, low-calorie cupcakes. At an early weigh-in, trainer Jillian Michaels grows frustrated with one contestant who doesn't celebrate her successes, and then trainer Bob Harper invites the players to his house for a vegan meal. Then those who fell below the yellow line face an elimination challenge involving large rolls of carpet, but one player fears elimination when sidelined by an injury. And despite two players being sent home this week, the contestants learn that the competition is about to get bigger.
Week 5
Five contestants who didn't make it to the ranch in the premiere episode now return, all vying for a spot back in the competition. Whoever has the highest percentage of weight loss wins their way back in, and also wins one of the most important, game-changing decisions of the season when the competition moves to blue team vs. black team this week. In their first challenge as blue team vs. black, they race through food stations in downtown Los Angeles, answering food trivia questions that come with a physical challenge penalty if they choose the wrong answer. And the stakes are high with the winning team getting "The Biggest Loser" meal plan by Ediets for each member, plus the always-coveted reward of letters from home. When one team proves victorious, members of the losing team get a heartwarming surprise. Later, the drama heats up when a rumor spreads of one team possibly throwing the weigh-in, and after a tense weigh-in, the players send another contestant home.
Week 6
The contestants start their week hearing surprising news from host Alison Sweeney that at this week's weigh-in, only one person's weight will count for the blue team and the black team. It will be up to the opposing team to decide whose weight will count and the two contestants chosen won't be revealed until the weigh in - leaving the blue and black teams busy strategizing on who they should choose. Then the players get a visit from celebrity chefs Curtis Stone and Lorena Garcia. Each chef is paired with a team to help coach them through a timed cooking competition - but neither chef is allowed to actually touch the food, adding to the tension as they race against the clock to finish in time. The winning team gets an advantage at this week's challenge, a dragon boat race pitting blue team vs. black. It's the ultimate test of teamwork and timing as both teams race to win the challenge and a prize that will give them a valuable advantage at weigh-in.
Week 7
It's the adventure of a lifetime when "The Biggest Loser" contestants are whisked away on military trucks to Camp Pendleton, where they will live and train like Marines for the week. There, they hit the ground running with a fast-paced week of activities led by a select group of Marines. It's non-stop action, from hiking with oversized backpacks to early morning rifle exercises to an intense obstacle course challenge that pits blue team vs. black, with a prize the players want now more than ever. While some struggle with the physical challenges and the adjustment of being away from the ranch, others thrive, and one even shaves his head to be just like the Marines! Later, the players meet up with trainers Bob Harper and Jillian Michaels at the Camp Pendleton gym for a Marine-style last chance workout, and then a weigh-in full of surprising numbers is followed by another player being eliminated.
Week 8
Host Alison Sweeney greets players with the news that the black and blue teams are being dissolved, and instead, they'll be competing as pairs this week. A high-calorie dinner temptation will determine who gets to choose the pairs, and the winning contestant's choices for teams creates tension in the house and alienates at least one player who feels betrayed. Trainers Bob Harper and Jillian Michaels work the contestants especially hard this week, and confront a few of the players about issues they can't seem to get past. Later, the pairs compete in a crazy challenge stacking sugar cubes, followed by the most explosive weigh-in yet this season, with heated exchanges taking place among the contestants and the trainers. A surprising elimination follows, sending two more players home.
Week 9
This week, the competition moves to singles, so contestants will compete on their own without partners or teammates from this point forward. The most recent elimination is still a big topic of conversation, with trainer Bob Harper trying to determine why the vote went the way it did and one player still upset over the departure of a close friend. But the players all perk up with news from the trainers that they're getting a special gift from loved ones - heartwarming videos from home that move everyone to tears. When one player doesn't receive a video, the other contestants thoughtfully plan an uplifting surprise to try and make up for it. Then a pool challenge tests everyone's balancing skills, and later, one player reaches a milestone at the weigh-in. Finally, one more contestant is eliminated, and heads home to an emotional reunion with loved ones.
Week 10
It's one of the most eagerly anticipated events every season "The Biggest Loser" makeover episode! First, the remaining seven players head to the salon of celebrity hairstylist Ken Paves, who crafts great new looks for each of them, and then they're off to a People Magazine photo shoot. Later, the contestants show off their stylish and slimmer selves on a fashion runway celebrating Ford Warriors in Pink and all of their efforts to raise breast cancer awareness and fight the disease. Then it's time for emotional reunions when the made-over players show off their incredible new looks to loved ones flown in to help them celebrate their big day. After the makeovers, it's back to reality at the ranch, and then a challenge that will give the lucky winner the biggest prize yet this season -- a 2011 Ford Edge car. The contestants' stamina and endurance are put to the test, but it's their hearts that really come into play when a surprise turn of events at the challenge leads to one of the most heartwarming moments in "Biggest Loser" history. Finally, one player reaches a milestone at the weigh-in, after which an elimination round sends another contestant home.
Week 11
The stakes are higher than ever this week when host Alison Sweeney informs the last six contestants that there will be a red line and a yellow line at the weigh-in this week, and those who stay above both will be in the final four. Special guest Nastia Liukin, a five-time Olympic medalist and four-time World Champion gymnast, meets up with the players for a pop challenge that tests their stamina as they compete in five different exercises. Later, trainers Bob Harper and Jillian Michaels talk to contestants to see how they feel about going home, one contestant gets an impressive health update from Dr. Huizenga, and the players all discuss what they'd do with the grand prize money if they won. Then it's time for the traditional end-of-season challenge in which the players all put their original weight back on and drop it incrementally as they lost it on the show. Later, one player tearfully says goodbye after falling below the red line at the weigh-in, and then two more are up for an elimination that really takes the player voted out by surprise. Finally, the two eliminees return home for emotional reunions with family and friends, leaving the season 10 final four at the ranch.
Week 12
The final four contestants leave the ranch and transition back to life at home, showing off their new slimmer selves to family and friends and facing the temptations and challenges of everyday life. Six weeks later, they return to the ranch to run 26.2 miles, cheered on by loved ones. The winner breaks a "Biggest Loser" marathon record. Then a final weigh-in determines who the two definite finalists will be - and which two contestants fall below the dreaded yellow line, leaving America to vote which one will be the third finalist to compete for the grand prize of $250,000.
Week 13
In this must-see, exciting live finale, all of the contestants from this season return for a special reunion and a chance to weigh in one last time - and show America how much weight they've all lost since beginning their weight-loss journeys. There are four contestants left, but America has voted on the two that fell below the yellow line in last week's episode to choose who will be the third finalist in the game. After America's vote is revealed and the third finalist is announced, the eliminated player will then weigh in with the other 18 eliminated contestants to compete for the $100,000 "at home" prize. Then it's the moment viewers have been waiting for, when one of the three finalists will be named this season's "Biggest Loser" and win the coveted grand prize of $250,000!.
