DS Phil Hunter and DC Eva Sharpe follow separate lines of enquiry when investigating a young prostitute who's been stabbed. Phil believes that a young schizophrenic is responsible but Eva takes the time to delve deeper and uncover the actual perpetrator. But an unorthodox interview with a bailed suspect lands her in a life-threatening situation with corrupt social worker, Martin Fisher (Don Gilet from Baby Father). PC Nick Klein is furious when Phil takes the credit on the case and decides to expose him once and for all. Nick puts in a call to Phil's wife but will he really tell her about Phil's secret love child Madison? PC Jim Carver suffers the embarrassment of having a drunken wife bought into the station on a disorderly charge. Wife Marie is quick to have a go at Jim for leaving her in the cells all day and he is eventually pushed to breaking point. Many of these items have incredible stories behind them and a unique place in history: from an accordion played in the Blitz by a woman who is now in her 90s, to a beautifully crafted clock made by a father who was completely blind; a Pinball machine that is currently being used as a kitchen counter, and a Davenport desk with its trademark fake drawers which fooled burglars - and their crowbar.

The Repair Shop is an antidote to our throwaway culture and shines a light on the wonderful treasures to be found in homes across the country.
