Keep the Home Fires Burning
Rufus and Bert attempt to revive the career of an insurance salesman. A good guy and his pal want to help the other fellow and the series begins as the two get burned trying to aid a hapless insurance agent. Just as Rufus and Bert think they are on the way to riches with a new charcoal barbecue, fire breaks out in Bert's diner.

Pie In The Sky
Rufus persuades Bert to advertise his restaurant on TV. This is about a television commercial for Ben's Diner. The boys decide not to hire professional actors since the trend today is for the natural sound of how people talk to each other. Of course, the most natural person Bert knows is Rufus and viceversa so they hire themselves and the fun begins. After fluffing their lines in a TV commercial, Bert and Rufus decide to sponsor a ladies' bowling team.

Let 'Em Eat Rolls
Bert sells 3,000 rolls. Our stars stumble all over each other in their attempt to impress a music publisher from the East. Rufus dreams of becoming a high-powered plugger, making millions from music. Bert has only pride on his mind. The man is an ex-suiter of his wife's and he wants him to think Bert's business is booming.

A Man For Off-Season
Bert is on his way to a nervous breakdown and must get away from it all. He goes to a secluded shack in the woods, but it turns out to be a little more than a lonely prison. He feels saved when Rufus shows up, until the cause for his original nervous condition starts operating again.

Bert's Rufus-In-Law
Bert meddles in Rufus' love life. Rufus and Bert part company when Rufus falls in love with a pretty waitress and Bert tries to break up the romance.

Is This Trip Necessary?
Rufus is hurt outside the diner; he sues Bert for medical expenses. When Rufus is hurt in a fall outside Bert's diner, he lands in the hospital where pretty nurses tend him and Bert has to pay the bills.

Nostradamus Rides Again
Rufus can predict the future. Rufus foretells the future about a disaster in Bert's diner.

Credit Won't Buy You Happiness
Credit card holders will wince as well as laugh at The Good Guys Bert applies for and gets one of the little gems against the sage advice of Rufus. Naturally, he starts buying up a storm until finally Rufus borrows the card just to get it away from him. But Rufus can't do anything right and he loses it.

A View from the Terraza (aka Let's Hear It for the Old Man)
To compete with a new nearby restaurant, Bert has a patio built outside his diner. An elderly workman offers to do odd jobs around the diner. He fixes things he broke.

Guess Who's Comming to Poker
Bert is sad when none of the guys who join him for a regular poker playing sessions want Rufus joining in.

Sake To Me
Rufus and Bert, convinced they can make a fortune out of pancakes made with Japanese wine, try adding more and more wine to their batter. By the time they've settled on the right amount of wine, Bert's diner is pretty much of a shambles and the two buddies aren't in good shape either.

Ouzo Annie
Bert and Rufus arrange to have the diner franchised by a national restaurant chain. A handyman pretends to own the diner to impress his mother. "Give an inch and he'll demand a mile" is the idea behind THE GOOD GUYS. The inch is given to Niko, a handyman who is expecting a visit from his mother. He wants to pose as the diner's owner, and good guys Bert and Rufus agree. The mile he demands later is the diner itself.

Accident or no, he takes on his new responsibilities with a gusto that threatens Burt's sanity.
