Episode 4

Collector, dealer and auctioneer Paul Martin has been in the antiques business for 25 years. Now he's travelling across the country to pit his auctioneering skills against his biggest rivals in the ultimate battle of the gavels. This week, Paul Martin is in the West Midlands as he takes on antiques ace Rachel Holland. Rachel has her gavel at the ready to do battle at the rostrum once more. In their first challenge, locals bring their antiques and collectibles to a valuation day at Stourbridge Town Hall, but only the best items will be put under the hammer. Will either auctioneer be tempted with a pair of locally-blown wine goblets, a Basil Brush lamp base or an Edward VIII banner for the coronation that never was? As they head into the second round, they find themselves against the clock, as they race around Halfpenny Antiques & Vintage Centre in search of hidden treasures that could make them a profit in the saleroom. The third challenge gives both rivals the chance to bag a big money star lot which could transform their fortunes - this time a late 19th century Italian marble specimen table and an Art Nouveau mahogany dresser are up for grabs. Can Rachel win the day at the end of show auction and take it to decider?
