The first episode takes a look at the best television programmes from the swinging decade that invented pop culture. From soaps to sitcoms, variety to live events, the show features insider stories and stand out footage.
Featuring interviews with some of the leading players from this decade. We hear from Coronation Street Legend William Roache about the early days of the soap, including the terrifying experience of filming live episodes. Comic Jimmy Tarbuck shares stories from his stint hosting the iconic Sunday Night at the London Palladium and remembers his comedian friends Tommy Cooper, Benny Hill and Dick Emery.
We have classic hilarious moments from Pete and Dud, Monty Python and Dad's Army. Drama is represented with a celebration of The Avengers and Z Cars, and we learn how the epic costume drama The Forsyte Saga was so popular that pub landlords complained that bars were empty while the show was airing and churches were forced to change the timings for evensong to avoid empty pews.
We remember the start of Top of the Pops, with Three Degrees singer Sheila Ferguson describing how the show elevated the band's fortunes. Extracted features 12 untrained competitors attempting to survive extremely grueling conditions, perilous terrain, and the threat of fearsome predators in the unforgiving Canadian wilderness. Meanwhile, some miles away, their family members are locked down at a secluded headquarters watching them navigate their dangerous surroundings alone via a 24/7 live feed. The fate of each untrained contestant in the wilderness lies in the hands of their family members back in HQ. Each amateur survivalist's family has the power to decide whether their loved one has what it takes to brave the elements and fight to be the last one standing, or whether the family will push the ominous "Extract" button and remove their loved one and their whole family from the competition. Extracted begs the question: how far will their loved ones let them go for a chance for their family to win $250,000?

Poppa's House revolves around a legendary talk radio host and happily divorced "Poppa" who has his point of view challenged at work when a new female co-host is hired, and at home where he finds himself still parenting his adult son, a brilliant dreamer who is trying to pursue his passion while being a responsible father and husband.

Happy's Place follows Bobbie who inherits her father's restaurant and is less than thrilled to discover that she has a new business partner in the half-sister she never knew she had.
Gold Rush
Gold Rush follows six men who, in the face of an economic meltdown, risk everything - their families, their dignity, and in some cases, their lives - to strike it rich mining for gold in the wilds of Alaska. Inspired by his father Jack, Todd Hoffman of Sandy, Oregon, leads a group of greenhorn miners to forge a new frontier and save their families from dire straits. While leasing a gold claim in Alaska, Todd and his company of newbies face the grandeur of Alaska as well as its hardships, including an impending winter that will halt operations and the opportunity to strike gold. In an effort to keep the operation running, the team takes fate into their own hands with a make or break venture that will change their lives forever.
