Beautiful Places
A year on from her husband's death, new detective Ember Manning is called to an arson attack. The investigation that follows brings Ember into contact with an underage pregnant girl, who Ember suspects has been seeing an older man. When a true crime podcaster, in town to investigate a cold missing persons case, tells Ember that the older man is actually a serial predator, Ember finds herself reflecting upon the age difference between her and her late husband.
Naive Prey
Still reeling from her shocking discovery, Ember is desperate to find out what Riz knows about the Amy Knightly case. They begin to share information and Ember tells Riz her suspicions about the identity of Miranda's abuser. Ember is horrified when she's told that the lake is to be searched for Amy's remains. When Riz stops returning Ember's calls, Ember suspects that it's because she has uncovered the terrible truth about what happened to Amy.
Angry not Mad
Reeling from the discovery of a body in the lake, Ember knows it will be only a matter of time before the police find the incriminating voicemails. With the police focusing on the body, Ember is determined to find out who Miranda's abuser is, hoping this leads her to the killer. Learning the truth about who has been abusing Miranda, and the inevitability that Mack was likely responsible for Amy's disappearance, pushes Ember to breaking point. And when Hannah's safety is threatened, Ember soon realises she has nowhere left to turn.
Ghosts
Suspended from duty and with Mack's anniversary celebration looming, Ember is forced to confess to her family that human bone fragments were found in the boat hut. Devastated, Hannah can't believe her dad was responsible and pleads with Ember to look further.
Ember's instincts tell her this isn't a done deal. Doubling down, Ember is determined to finally get to the truth of what really happened to Amy. When a shocking new development propels Ember into dangerous territory, the truth is finally revealed, and it's far more shocking than she ever expected.

Wild Cards
Wild Cards follows the unlikely duo of a gruff, sardonic cop and a spirited, clever con woman. Ellis, a demoted detective, has unfortunately spent the last year on the maritime unit, while Max has been living a transient life elaborately scamming everyone she meets. But when Max gets arrested and ends up helping Ellis solve a local crime, the two are offered the opportunity to redeem themselves, with Ellis going back to detective and Max staying out of jail. The catch? They have to work together, with each using their unique skills to solve crimes. For Ellis, that means hard-boiled shoe leather police work; for Max, it means accents, schemes and generally befriending everyone in sight, while driving Ellis absolutely nuts. Against the backdrop of beautiful Vancouver — with all its unique, charming, and even contradictory neighbourhoods and subcultures — the two will have to learn what it means to trust another person and maybe actually become partners.
