Carrie's boss wants her to ask Doug to be an expert witness in an upcoming case since he needs testimony from a delivery driver, but Carrie fears that Doug isn't the right choice.

Doug and Carrie want to conceive soon, but their efforts are hindered when Doug's parents visit for Christmas.

Carrie becomes jealous when Doug agrees to be a taste tester for Spence's new girlfriend, who is studying to be a chef.

Carrie wants to take Doug salsa dancing to celebrate the anniversary of their first date, but Doug persuades her to go to Atlantic City instead.

Doug and Carrie feel guilty over their lack of charitable contributions so they give a hefty donation to an elementary-school library, but are then disappointed when they aren't given proper credit for the gift on a donors' plaque.
Eddie Money
Doug and Deacon win $5000 gambling and decide to spend all the money in one day so their wives won't find out. Their extravagance includes a private Eddie Money concert at Doug's house. Also, Carrie is offered a job to work for the head of the law firm.
Two Thirty
Doug learns his dentist used to have a crush on Carrie, which might explain why the root canal he performs on Doug hurts so badly. Also, Arthur offers piano lessons to kids, even though he doesn't know how to play the instrument.
Shrink Wrap
Arthur visits a psychiatrist and recalls via flashback a disturbing encounter with his dad that may explain Arthur's abrasive personality.
