The search for a new music superstar gets underway as The X Factor returns to ITV. Heralding the start of a new era for the nation's most talked about entertainment show, is a brand-new panel with Robbie Williams, Ayda Williams and Louis Tomlinson joining music mogul Simon Cowell as judges.Returning as host is Mr Saturday Night, Dermot O'Leary, who will be on hand to guide viewers and contestants alike through their X Factor journey, providing them with a word of advice or a much-needed hug as the contestants perform in front of the judging panel.This series sees the return of the arena auditions at The SSE Arena, Wembley, where the hopefuls will have to perform not only for the judges but live in front of members of the public, making it the biggest audition of their lives. Should they impress and secure three or more ‘yeses' they will go through to the judge's deliberation, where the judges will review and decide who gets to perform in the Six Chair Challenge. This is all before the competition really heats up and culminates with the live shows later in the year.Expect outstanding vocals and sensational performances, as the judges and contestants go all out in a bid to be crowned The X Factor Champion 2018.

Six Chair Challenge 1
The competition reaches a new level as the dramatic Six Chair Challenge returns, promising some amazing performances alongside some agonising decisions for the judges, as they must each decide on the final six acts they will take through to the Judges' House round.

The live shows draw closer for the remaining 24 acts as they jet off to the Judges' Houses stage, in a bid to land a coveted place in the live shows. Offering a glimpse into the jetset lifestyle that the winner could have, the contestants travel to glamorous destinations across the world, and with just one more chance to impress their mentor, each act will be hoping to convince them that they have the star quality required to reach the live shows.

Each of the regular judges will be joined by a guest who knows all about what it takes to make it in the industry, to help them decide which of the contestants make the cut

Dermot O'Leary presents the third episode of the Judges' Houses phase, which sees the contestants jetting off to glamorous locations around the world. Once there, they must impress their individual mentor and a special guest judge to prove they are worthy of winning a place in the live shows.

Each of the final 16 contestants will sing their hearts out live on stage with judges Simon Cowell, Louis Tomlinson, Robbie Williams and Ayda Williams taking their seats behind the judges' desk to battle it out with their contestants in the hope of impressing the audience at home.

Ayda's husband and Groups mentor Robbie Williams is due to return to the judging panel next week, having missed several recent shows due to touring commitments in South America, so tonight will see a guest stepping into the former Take That star's shoes once again.
