Three Women
Gia, a grieving writer, decides to write a book about women's desire. In the center is Lina, a housewife in Indiana; Sloane, a glamorous entrepreneur in the Northeastern United States and Maggie, a waitress in North Dakota.
Lina
Lina flees from a stagnant marriage and a body filled with pain. She joins a women's group at Dr. Henry's and tries to reconnect with the love of her life while striking up a friendship with Gia.
Sloane
An upsetting visit from her mother pushes Sloane ever closer to Will. Richard tries to appease Sloane's desire in another, less successful way.
Maggie
Maggie plucks up the courage to tell her parents and the police about the relationship with her high school teacher.
Gia
A jump back in time: Gia struggles to write her book about sex in America. While starting a love story of her own, she processes the pain of her own losses. She has moved to Indiana and bonds with Lina.
Climax
Lina, Sloane and Maggie follow their heart's desires, unaware of the consequences that await them.

In Indiana, Gia and Lina's bond is threatened by Jack's sudden arrival and the revelation of a well-kept secret.

When Aaron Knodel is put on trial, Maggie is forced to accept a great loss.
